"The Circle owes you a great debt. . . . If it weren't for you and your team of brave men, Magicana will, once again, be facing a great deal of conflict," said Councilor Cementhia.
"While the previous councilor and most of the leovirs do not see eye to eye with your people, we indeed owe you the peace of this land," said Councilor Segori.
"The Circle recognized your actions on Blood City, however tragic the results were. We found no flaw in your reports and therefore all of it remains to be true," Councilor Umbaña folded his arms.
"Step forward Eliot and Morrigan," said the elkerian councilor. "From this day, the Circle names you two . . . SPEAR."
Eliot and Morrigan stepped out of the Circle's council room. Standing by railings of the balcony, the ray of sunlight touched their skin.
"Everything's gonna be different now. . ." said Eliot.
"No more Casters. MPD's now overseeing the peace and order in Terravir," said Morrigan.
"It's gonna breed conflict."
"Everything breeds conflict, Eliot."
A footstep sounded behind them, "I see you two are still here. . . ."
"Councilor Umbaña," greeted them both.
The councilor bowed. "Niflheim is on the run. . . . With Ms. Griffin's power off of his hands, he is no longer a threat to this land."
"Forgive me, sir. But Niflheim is Niflheim, he has never quit a fight he hasn't won . . . ever."
"Then I suggest the two of you do something about it. You're a SPEAR now. All and any resources you can use are yours to use. There are no restrictions, no laws, that will prohibit you to do what you think is deemed necessary to finish the task. You do what you must. You do what you think is best. However . . . Niflheim is also a SPEAR. Only death will part a SPEAR from its title."
"We'll see to it that's he'll pay for his crimes, sir," said Eliot.
"That's very good. . . . I'll leave you to it then."
Before the councilor could reach the doorway, he stopped and turned around to Eliot and Morrigan and mouthed something that made Eliot's lips widen and so does Morrigan's. They replied with the same vibrato, both proud, both ecstatic — they put their fist in their chest and said.
"Glory for the wizards. . . ."
