IT WAS NOVEMBER first which meant the coming of winter, the days were starting to get shorter and the nights were getting colder. That meant that the building was now packed as nobody dared venture outside, only a handful did for Quidditch practice or to smoke some cigs. So, there wasn't much to do. Most people moped about in the Great Hall or headed into the library to cram in some last-minute homework. it wasn't pleasant by any means, though. Many children forced into the same area were a guaranteed recipe for disaster, and the Prewett twins and Peeves weren't making things any better. In fact, they were the reason that everybody had been sent to their common rooms for an early curfew so that the teachers could keep them under control. Though they weren't quick enough which meant the Great Hall was currently flooded, the Prewett's had taken the enchantment off the roof that kept them dry, allowing the outside weather in the already drab castle.

Luckily for Adelia, she didn't have to stay in the cramped common room any longer. See, they would stay in their dorm but Marlene had her friends over and it was much easier for them to stay away from Herrow. It not like they hated her, she was just annoying because she always had a comment or two that would get under Adelia's skin.

After slipping out of the portrait hole, it was alleviating to be out of there. But where she was going was no better. She took a sharp left, heading towards the office. Her fingertips felt fuzzy and her stomach was twisting in knots, the girl didn't know what to expect as Jaspar had never spoken about Professor McGonagall.

That wasn't really the thoughts that distracted her. No, just before she got close to the door - it opened revealing a meager boy who looked deathly ill. Remus had his head down, trying to avoid whoever was walking his way. Yes, the two hadn't talked since the first week or so, but that didn't mean she didn't worry about him. Honestly, it was no surprise that he was so ill after being kept away from children all those years. He wouldn't have been exposed to many germs and such things that would build up his immune system.

"Remus, you alright?" She asked, frowning slightly. He looked as if he was about to faint.

"Huh?" He mumbled before lifting his head up. "Oh, Adelia. Hi." The boy tried to give her a wide smile but it seemed to have come off far more pained than happy.

"Hi." She replied, rather confused. "You look terrible."

"Thanks," Remus reported sarcastically, he really hadn't missed her bluntness around the full moon.

"Oh, I didn't mean it like that. I've seen you ill multiple times but this is by far the worse I've seen you." There was a tinge of worry in her tone that made his smile shine through. Okay, maybe he had missed her a lot, bluntness and all.

"I'm fine. It's just gotten worse over the years, nothing I can do." He shrugged, scuffing his shoe against the cobbled floor.

"You should really see a doctor, you could have Polio or you could get it really easily. A boy down my street got it before I left for Hogwarts, mum's taking me for the vaccine when I go home for summer." Adelia explained as the boy was in a right state.

"I wish..." Remus said under his breath, earning a raised brow from the girl. "Dad thinks muggle doctors are useless. Anyways, Professor McGonagall sent me to go see the nurse. I'll be right."

"Well, I could go get-" Adelia was going to suggest getting one of his friends, only to be cut off.

"No!" He snapped, rather angrily. That ring of gold seemed to flare in his angered state, only concerning the girl further. "Sorry," Remus said shyly, suddenly aware of his temper. "I don't want to disturb them."

"Well, if you're not back later then I'll come to visit you." She said, not thinking too much of it. And before he could protest, she was knocking on the office door. So, Remus left in a slight huff - hoping she wouldn't turn up. At least it wasn't the full moon tonight...
