RECAP:

Lia's Aunty Lou, Jareds mum, along with others of their friends are going on a road trip, whilst Lia needs to look after Victoria and Noah at Joanne's house.

Monday night

Lia's POV

After an hour of over thinking and regretting I finally make my way down the stairs with my gigantic suit case. I keep reminding myself that Jared's only going to be there a couple of hours - at the most - during the week. Thinking back to what Joanne said, 'too busy with things' that makes me cringe as well as wonder at the same time. I know Marnie comes to visit every once in a while, so I'll ask her to come keep me company, I'm sure she won't mind to much.

Aunt Lou told me ealier that she'll drop me off at Joanne's place and at the same time pick her up to leave on their road trip.

Noah went home with Victoria after school, so it's just me. It's not like I haven't been to their house before, I have a many times, but this feels different. I've encountered Jared at school before and even at this house a few times, I wouldn't really call him a emeny, but certinally not a friend.

The only times we've actually had a well.. conversation that lasted more than 5 seconds has only happened twice, I wouldn't even really call them either a conversation but if the shoe fits, right?

"Hey Aunt, we leaving yet?"
I ask.

"In a minute!" She says as she rushes around making sure everything is in order.

After I've carried my suitcase and backpack to the car, I turn around and start helping Aunt Lou.

~~

It's been about 5 minutes and I'm still sitting in the car outside of Joanne's place.

Aunt Lou has just finished putting the last of Jo's duffel bags in the back and has put my suitcase and other supplies just outside the car.

My Aunty gives me a look to give get out of the car, I've already told her I can bring my bags in by myself. I give Aunt Lou a hug and say our goodbyes.

As they both get into the car Joanne says, "Are you sure you're alright bringing those bags in yourself?"

I reply; "I think I'll manage." With a smile.

"Take the biggest spare room on the right down the hall." She says winking. As they drive off I smile and wave until I can't see the car anymore.

Since I guess Noah and Vic are the only ones left in the house I open the front door and let myself in. As I walk around the corner into the kitchen, I bump into Jared walking around the corner to the opposite direction.

"A lot of luggage for a week isn't it." He says smirking, leaning his arm against the wall.

I just shrug and pick up my sunglasses from the ground, that were sitting on the top of my head. I smile and walk straight past him around another corner and up the stairs. I might as well try be as friendly as possible since I am going to be seeing him more often.

Once I shut the door of the spare room I've chosen, and by the way this house has like 6 of them, I put down my bags and collapse on the giant king sized bed. I've been into about 2 of the spare rooms when I was playing hide and seek with Victoria. This one is far bigger and has more detail to the room, it has a huge flat screen TV with surround sound and probably 20 counsels of who knows what.

I turn my head to the dell light coming from the window and notice it's getting cold and windy, I slowly get up and start to close the door. I suddenly stop and admire the scenery I see from the balcony. I step outside and lean up against the railing. I stare off at the sun setting and then notice how beautiful and big the garden is. I look around in awe and start naming all the different types of plants and flowers I see, in year 8 our science teacher made us spend a whole year focused on nature. The pool is ginormous and it's got it's own barbecue area, changing area and about 30 seats around. I don't know how I haven't noticed this before, even though I've never been outside. On the other side of the fence is a endless forest, theirs a gate in the fence leading into the forest.

I take my gaze to the back sliding door where I can see Victoria and Noah playing some sort of game. I realise I haven't seen either of them since I've been here so I decide to leave my unpacking for later and go down stairs.
