Chapter 4

Lia's POV

Tucked in my warm bed. Knowing that saturday has finally come, after a shit-fulled week.

Lets think about it.

I have guys stalking me, no idea why I'm not at all attractive. Gotten bitchy glares and threating texts from Vikky's little minons. Not like I'm scared of the little brat. Gotten detention for a couple more weeks from the principal. On top of that, my Aunty pissed off at me for punching Vikky on Monday. She wouldn't take my phone off me nor my laptop, she's too cool for that.

Ha, I love my Aunty.

I'm awaken by a small stone thrown at my window. I roll over and my clock reads '11:25'. I slowly rise from my bed and make my way to the window fixing my hair.

I take a peek out of the closed curtain. As sun shines into my eyes I open my window and see Lilly. Lilly is my neighbour. Shes about the same age as me and go to the same school. We found out on Wednesday that we lived next to each other and instainly became really close. We meet in p.e. and really hit it off, we're both equally good athletes. They're was only about 5 people in class the day I meet Lilly because Jared is friends with half the class and they're going to some party or whatever.

I quickly react and wave with a smile on my face. I use hand guestures to say I'll be out out in a minute. I grab the closest jersey and shove it on. I tie my hair in a high pony tail and jog out the door.

I walk up to Lilly and greet her with a hug.

"Hey Lia, my parents invited you over for a barbaque tonight if you haven't got any plans." She asks with a genuine smile.

Have nothing else to do.

"Yeah sure, that'll be great."I say politely. "What time should I be over?"

"About 5 would be okay, we'll be eating at around 6." I nod and explain that I'm busy for the morning so I'll have to leave.

A/N js it's about 4 now, in this part lol

I put my nike sneakers on and decide for go for a jog. I haven't done fitness in over a month so I may as well. I take my dog Kase for some freah air too. Since we just moved here, I'm still getting use to the area, so this will be interesting.

I put on a leash on Kase and leave off right away. I decide to go left and carry on from there.

Once I've gotten near a small crowd of people, I go up to a elderly couple and ask for directions to the nearest park. I followed the way they directed me in, down a short path and around a corner, I made it there and colasped onto a park bench. I let Kase to go for a walk by herself.

After 30 minutes of talking with strangers, roming around and sitting by the small lake, I realise its getting quite dark.

I retrace my steps back to the entrance of the park. I look both ways and carry on going all the way around the block since I must be more than half way by now. It starts getting alot darker, I stop but a street sigh 'Clover Ave' and pull out my phone and the time states '5:22' I text Lilly and explain that I can't make it. Moments after I get a text from my Aunty,

"Where you?"

I don't know Aunty Loo, and yes you did tell me so, I should've came with you on the tour of the town.

"I went out for a jog, you at home?"

"No, I'll be working late again tonight, Noah gets home from his school trip at about 7, I'll pick him up then and be home."

"Okay"

I start jogging faster and faster as minutes go by. After about 5 minutes I start to panic. I start to hear noises in bushes and it starts freaking me out. I walk up to a familur street sign, 'Rater Place'. This is the place I babysat for Joanne on Monday. I meet her and she's so down to earth and caring.

I decide to walk to her house to see if I can use the land line to call my Aunty since my phone went flat. I start walking through the the gianormus houses down to number '24'.

As I approch the front door, I see all the lights on with a car infront of the 4 door garage. I leave Kase tied to pole outside Joannes house.

I knock on the door slowly and wait a few moments.

I hear the door opening slightly. I don't see Joanne's face nor Victoria's.

It's Jared. Jared Cole. How could I forget, out of all people, it has to be him.

I phisically slam my hand onto my forehead. He realises who it is, he folds his arms, leans against the door frame. And there, his million dollar smirk appears on his face.

I roll my eyes. Looking at my feet I ask confidently if Joanne is home.

"I don't know, is she?" He says sarcasticly chuckling under his breath.

"Just tell me." I say Annoyed and sick of jokes.

"MUM! DOOR!" He yells while walking off on his phone, probably texting his 48 girlfriends.

I guess I exaggerated a little there.

Joanne approches me with a friendly hug, once she lets go she looks concerned. She asks, "Why are you out this late? It's almost 10."

"I guess I got lost. Could I use your home phone to call my mum?" I ask in need.

"Of course sweetie!" She pushes me inside and directs me into a room Jared was in. As soon as we enter Jared immediatly looks up from his phone staring at me straight in the eye. I must admit I was staring back but tore away first.

I see in the corner of my eye, him looking down on his lap scratching his head.

Joanne hands me the phone and I go into another room, I diall the number;

"Honey where are you!" She wisper yells.

"I'm at Joannes house, I got a little lost while jogging can you come pick me up?"

"I'll be there in 5."

I put down the phone on the counter and take a seat at the breakfast bar. I started drinking a glass of water Jo sat out for me.

I let out a sigh and lend on my hand while my elbow was resting on the counter top.

I hear loud foot steps come near me. I turn around and see Jared, he must be walking to other room. He rolls his eyes at me while I glare at him.

As minutes go past, I get more impatient. I actually take a minute to have a scan around the fancy and elegant kitchen. I scan through a couple of rooms I can see from where I'm sitting. I must say I'm very impressed. This house is huge!

I finally hear knocking on the door. I power walk straight to the front door, knowing its my Aunty. I swing the door open smiling. I reach out to give her a hug. "Come lets go child" She plays. I yell to Joanne "Thank you!" A "No problem, come back at any time!" was called from another end of the house.

A/N So I'm just gonna leave it there, sorry it was kinda boring. We should be back on track now so the chapters should be coming regualrly now.
