You and I against the world

Chapter 6

He picks me up with no hesitation. My head is in his shoulder and I'm slowly dozing off. I feel hazy and unconcertrated. I slowly turn my head upward and ask, "Where are we going?"

"I'm taking you home." He says softly.

"I don't want to go home, I don't want to be alone," I say with a puppy dog face.

"Where's your Aunty?"

"You can put me down now."

Jared's POV

"She's visiting family or something," I hear her say and I take few seconds to process it.

"Why didn't you go with her?"

"Well, it's not really family, just close friends that I don't know that well, it just feels like I'm not welcome." She says scoffing like she doesn't want to talk about it that much.

I give a small smile and nod, it's just silent for the next 5 minutes of walking. We arrive at her drive way, I know where she lives because I had to drive her home one time she was babysitting and I was with mates. I start walking up to the front door with my arm supporting her. All the lights are off which means no one must be home. The house must be empty since Louise isn't here and Noah wouldn't be home alone.

I enter and start bringing her to her room, I lay her down on her bed and tuck her in, she's already half alsleep. I then leave.

Lia's POV

I look over to my alarm clock and it states '6:45' I groan turning the alarm off. I drag myself out of my bed and roll my eyes standing up, streching. I look in the mirror and realise how bad I look. I'm still in my clothes I wore the preious day. My hair is a mess and I have smuges of mascara under my eyes. I rub my eyes and finger comb my hair back. I go into the bathroom and strip to have a shower.

After a quick shower I get changed, ready to go to school. There's about 30 minutes left until I have to leave. I go to my mirror and start fixing my hair. I pull it up into a high pony tail. I notice a dark purple mark forming on my jaw. I touch it and it stings. How did I get this?

And then it kicked in. I was attacked by a guy and then Jared Cole brought me home. I start freaking out for a second. I've heard rumors and stories about him. He doesn't care about anyone else thats not 'important', he doesn't help people. He's the most popular guy at this school, every girl sucks up to him and wants to be with him. Why would he help me? He doesn't even care about me.

I sigh and leave my room to go eat breakfast. I take out the ceral and poor it into a bowl. There's now 5 minutes before I have to go, so I pack up my things and walk out to my car.

When I arrive at school I start walking to my first class, math. We have a test today, not to big of a deal. I love tests. I sit in the middle of the room. The teacher hands me my test I start right away.

"You have 40 minutes, this will go into your break time. Good luck, start." The teacher instructs.

I finish in 5-10 minutes. I notice someone stand excatly the same time as me. Jared Cole. Pfft he probably guessed half of them. Bad boys aren't smart. Right? I take a quick glance and turn around not trying to aviod making akwkard eye contact. I hand my test to the teaher and he tells me I get free time for the rest of the period, there's only 5 minutes left til luch. I then leave to go find Daisy. Her first class is P.E, it's on the other side of the school.

By the time I get there, the bell goings for lunch. I meet up with Daisy. We start walking down the hall when Jared and Aaron aproach the room. Girls turning around and giggling and giving cute remarks towards them. Guys from sports teams giving them nods and those guy handshakes. It's like everyones just completely stops to stare at them like they're some big movie stars.

He makes eyes contat with me and I just roll my eyes and scoff at him.
