As they headed away from the Burrow and towards the local muggle town Harry finally broke the silence. "Hermione?"
        "Yes Harry?"
"What's going on with Ginny? During the war one of the only things that kept me going was knowing I was keeping her safe. And knowing that I would be able to see her again. But as soon as I arrived she couldn't seem to be in the same room as me...." It took a minute for Hermione to answer and when she did she took a deep breath before saying "Harry, do you know what's been going on with Ginny, Ron, or myself these past few months?" Harry shook his head. "Well for starters, Ron and I are dating."
        "Congrats Hermione!"
"Thanks Harry. But you have a bigger problem."
        "What's that Hermione?"
"Following the wizarding war Ginny was a wreck. She lost tonks, Fred... and she lost you."
"What do you mean she lost me? I love her more than anything. I've known her for years and I would do anything for her!"
"I'm sorry Harry to be the one to tell you this but she's angry with you. You left her when she needed you most, she felt abandoned." Harry turned away and disapperated on the spot to a sorrowed faced Hermione.
Upon returning to the burrow, Hermione heads upstairs to the second floor and knocks on Ginny's door and enters. Ginny had spent most of her time this summer in her room staring at the walls, much to her family's worry. When Hermione entered Ginny was crying softly in the corner on her chair. The room looked as though it hadn't been cleaned in a few months. Dust was on her dresser, nightstand and her wardrobe. "Ginny!" Hermione exclaimed, shocked. As she ran over to the girl in the corner. Ginny turned and began to sob into Hermione's shoulder; her nerves had never quite recovered after what she took as rejection from Harry on top of the Battle of Hogwarts. The one person she had thought would never hurt her. The person who had saved her in the Chamber of Secrets. The person she had crushed on and fallen in love with since she was eleven broke her heart. "Ginny, it's ok." Between sobs Ginny said "but I-I-I thought he loved me. I thought that he would never hurt me, I wanted to give him everything. I love him more than anything."
"Love?" Hermione asked. "Like you still love him?" Ginny managed a nod before she buried her head back into Hermione's shoulder. "You know he still loves you too." Ginny shrugged her shoulders but didn't let up. There was a sudden knock on the door and Mrs.Weasley came in. "What's the commotion... oh Ginny." She came in and took Hermione's place and thanked her. Hermione left with one last look over her shoulder.
"Is Ginny ok Hermione?" Ron asked. "I'm not sure." He reached over and grabbed her hand and pulled her over to him. "Yes Ron?" He reached down and gave her a kiss. After he released Hermione, she pulled back with a silly grin on her face that looked foreign on her. "By the way, where is Harry? I didn't see him come back with you."
        "Well... he's distraught about Ginny."
"You mean he still wants Ginny after..." his voice elevated. "ARE YOU KIDDING ME! AFTER EVERYTHING HE DID TO HER!"
"RON!" Hermione yelled to get him under control. But Ron was not to be stopped. "I forbid Harry to date Ginny. I can't stand to see her like this. I can't do it. Ginny's a wreck and the one person who could have helped her through this abandoned her," he stopped. There was a loud pop of someone disapperating outside and a few moments later, Harry walked into the kitchen, eyes swollen and was instantly berated by a fuming Ron; "You think you can still date my sister? Do you think you're on cloud nine?!"
"Ron!" Screamed Hermione. But it was too late. Harry was already drawing his wand. And screaming at Ron. "You think I don't love her?!" He roared. "I'd rather die than be without her. I would without hesitation throw myself in front of her, I love her." Ginny had walked into the room, her presence unknown to the room. Meanwhile Ron was now drawing his wand which he pointed directly at Harry's face and found it falling from his hand as Harry disarmed him a second later. Hermione was screaming "STOP STOP STOP!" At the top of her lungs. "What are you going to do Harry?" Ron was taunting him. As Ron raised his arm to smack Harry and Harry his wand, there was a squeak and a sob from Ginny as she ran between the two. Everyone froze. And both relaxed their arms though only slightly. "Get out of the way Ginny," Ron said but the fight seemed to have left him. Harry repocketed his wand. He turned and ran out of the kitchen and slammed Ron's bedroom door seconds later.
An hour later Hermione went up to Ron's room.  "Alohomora," and opened the door.  Harry sat facing the opposite wall and didn't turn.  "What do you want Hermione?"
"How'd you know it was me?"
        "Who else would it be?"
"Fair point but Harry, why does Ginny mean so much to you?" Trying to figure out just how much Ginny really meant to him.  "I thought I already told you Hermione."
        "Well tell me again."
"She literally means the world to me.  She's smart, funny, and down right gorgeous.  She means everything to me and I don't know how I'm going to continue without her.  Honestly she became my entire world while I was fighting Voldemort.  My last thought before Voldemort attempted to kill me in the forest in May was of her.  Of the last time we were together the last time she had her lips on mine I... I can't, I don't know what else to say 'mione."
"Harry, why, what, I didn't know that, that last part."
"Well, with Ron completely against me having contact with Ginny...".
"Let me deal with Ron. I know just how to distract him," she said with a wink and left the room.  All Harry heard was Hermione's heading downstairs saying "Oh Ronald," and he smiled to himself.  He shut the door behind him and crept downstairs until he reached the second floor and knocked on Ginny's door.
He heard the words come in and entered.  Ginny turned around, "Harry?" she said in surprise. "I don't have a lot of time..." he trailed off as Ron yelled "Harry!" And start heading towards the stairs.  "12 Grimmauld Place meet me there no later than five o'clock tonight.  The password is Ginny, please come please."  He turned and ran.
