The annoying blinking red light catches my attention as I lean my elbows against the island and bring the mug full of sweetened coffee up to my lips. Tony Stark's annoyingly handsome face fills the screen in the middle of the counter, and F.R.I.D.A.Y. has picked up the call before I can even argue to just give me a few sips to let me wake up.
"What do you want, Tony?" I swipe up for the video call to pop off the counter, so that I can see his face as I glare at him.
"Robin, it is good to hear your lovely voice and see you in all your morning beauty," Tony smirks as I flip him off.
"Shut up," I roll my eyes, chuckling as Tony feigns hurt. "I have been alone at the compound for almost two years, which very little communication from either you or Steve, and then finally you call me up with that shit-eating grin on your face. What is the meaning of this?"
"First, I want to say, sorry about that. I didn't mean to leave you hanging for so long. I didn't realize how long it would take to get everything back together after what happened."
"We broke into two groups led by two guys who thought they were right, and then we fought against each other like children," I sip my coffee before angerly setting my mug down on the counter. "Say it how it is, Tony. Do you understand how hard it was for me to save face?"
"I know, I know," he takes a deep breath.
"You say that, but I don't think you have learned. Listen, I was able to get us out of the Sokovia Accords because I refused to let us become toys for the world to call upon us when they saw fit, and each one of us knew that was not the reason of the Avengers. If we had waited to be called upon for the aliens in New York, the city would have been wiped out. We all know this, and I stood in front of the United Nations multiple times to convince all those countries that. I was the blonde-haired green-eyed beauty that somehow, in her twenty-whatever years on this earth, has more experience than most of those guys in the room. I had to explain why some people had to die. I had to look family members in the eye. Do you understand how hard it was for me not to just lose it? Gah, I had to explain so many times that if the Avengers were forced to be called on like the damn Powerpuff Girls, that this world would be in a lot more danger."
"We appreciate you, Robin!" Pepper's sweet voice calls out from off screen.
"Where are you?" I narrow my eyes at Tony.
"On the way there," Tony flicks his wrist and a map with slowly blinking dots appears in the corner of the screen. "There was a lot of talking between Cap and I, which, thanks to you, happened because of all the work you did with the United Nations."
"I would do anything for my family," I pick my mug back up. "Who's with you?"
"I think it would be easier to tell you who is not with us," Tony nods. "Clint went home to be with his family, and the same goes for Scott. Thor and Loki are back in Asgard, T'Challa is back to rule Wakanda, and Strange had some other business to do for now."
"Strange?"
"Oh, yeah, you don't know him, but he has wizard powers that he got after his hands were destroyed or whatever. We met him along the way, and it would make sense that he is an Avenger after what he did. He'll come by sometime, I assume."
"Continue with your list," I wave him on, sipping on my coffee.
"Abbigail and Peter are at school, but will be coming this weekend, and every weekend for that matter, so they can learn the ways of how we do things. Rhodey would also be coming, but I forced him to go to physical therapy for his legs. My technology can only go so far. Other than that, everyone will be coming. Pepper and I, Banner, Natasha, Sam, Wanda, Vision, Cap, and the new guy."
