The track meet had just finished. I had tried out of course but this year the first years are totally monsters in a good athletic way, not-me-needing-to-save-my-friends-from-them-way. I slithered over to the stands and snuck up behind glory who was handing out pamphlets to students for the upcoming Bla bla bla. I leaped out of the shadows almost jumping onto glory's shoulders before with a flash of black hair had a big white poster flying by glory disappeared from under me. "DANG IT" I roared while smacking the ground with my fists, swirling upward kicking up dust. I stormed over to a grinning bodyguard and a rather amused/ticked-off glory. Glory was basically chained in her boyfriend's arms. Glory lightly smacked Deathbringer's arm telling him to let her go. "Nice try tsunami!" she smirked. I growled under my breath, see me and glory had this thing going where we would jumpscare each other back and forth, last time glory had hidden in my locker for two hours missing several classes just to scare me. So now it was my turn to scare her but ever since Deathbringer became her boyfriend he's with her almost 24/7 and it's SUPER ANNOYING. I smacked glory's shoulder since the school was out for the rest of the day. Glory, sunny, clay, starflight and I decided we were going to go get boba (milk tea, boba tea, whatever you call it). We had all been friends since we were babies and I protected them through schooling. Bullies? No problem id beat them up. People making fun of sunny for being too optimistic and 'kiddy'? I'll beat them up too. Infuriating athletic sociopaths flirting with your too frickin kind friend? I WISH COULD BEAT THEM UP. Glory, her overprotective boyfriend, kinkajou and I piled into the bus (not a school bus)

We switched up where we would meet up and have our little chats and it was already decided that boba was on the menu. During the bus ride, Kinkajou was bouncing up and down on her generic train seat squealing about how happy she was to be invited to a hangout with glory and the bonus of hangout out with glory's quote-unquote 'cool older friends' so ya. Kinkajou was practically in heaven. Daethbirger was being embarrassingly lovey-dovey to glory in public and like the true tsundere she is, glory is physically incapable of showing affection in public towards her overprotective, flirty self and confident body-guard type boyfriend. I popped in my AirPods and turned up my music to max volume. My biggest problem wasn't with glory and her lovey-dovey boyfriend, it was more about Clay's mental state after losing his sister, having several treated/unfairly treated siblings and who he chose to look for comfort in this desperate time in his life. Peril. What more is there to say?!?!? Peril is as unstable as they come, a total freak and not worth clays time or affections, I'm the friend that protects my friends from the world and everybody else, and I had already approached clay about my concerns about peril but for the first time, he disregarded EVERYTHING I had to say. Normally he would politely shut down my opinion or agree with some part of it this time it was just... no? All she had impaled is that 'hey clay price is not safe and I nor any of your other friends like her don't date her hecc don't even talk to her' but noooo he ignored everything and left their friendship on a sour note.

I was getting progressively more nervous about seeing Clay as the ride went on we had fought before sure but it never lasted this long normally clay would have defused the fight by now and we would be on good terms. I frowned with worry lines forming on my forehead as I bounce my leg to my deafening rock music.
