Consulting the President

"President Coin?" you ask Soldier Boggs. 

"Sorry, Soldier Willinger. I haven't seen her." Boggs then went back to his rounds.

"Let's see," you say to yourself. "You met Boggs a couple leagues from Peeta's room, and it's 6:50 in the morning. Coin should be in Command."

A few minutes later. . .

You knock on the cold, hard, metal door that conceals the Command room.

"Beetee? Anyone?" you ask.

"Come in, Avery," you hear a voice say. No, it can't be!

You walk in, and you see a surprise. "Finnick?!"

"I'm finally out of the hospital! I would've kept it a surprise, but here we are," Finnick laughs. That's one of the first laughs you've heard in a while. It feels good to see you still have hope.

"Does Annie know yet?" you ask.

"Yes, she was the first person to be informed." You think to yourself how cool it would be to have a relationship and know about things first. You're always last to be told. 

"Well, have ya seen Coin?" you ask.

"No," Finnick and Beetee reply. You walk out of the room, head spinning. Where could Coin be?

You decide to head back to Peeta. "There's nothing better to do," you tell yourself somberly. Coin would've been ecstatic about Peeta reawakening.

"Peeta?"

"Avery. You came back," Peeta says, perked up, but then he sagged again. He muttered, "unlike so many others."

"Of course I did. Peeta, you remember that you are my best friend, right?" you add.

"I was hijacked. My memory wiped."

"I remember, but you can't forget friends; that's too special to be taken away," you argue, but calmly argue.

"I know. I wouldn't remember you if I didn't," Peeta replies. You then get an unexpected surprise. At first, you were just sitting by Peeta, trying to comfort him. But now, in this magical moment, he kisses you. You tell yourself to savor it, but then you close your eyes while Peeta touches your cheek.
