Ryan's POV
Everyone agreed on going out to a Thai restaurant for lunch. Well, by everyone I mean everyone aside from Grace. She stayed in the room the whole time while we decided. I looked around the table observing everybody. The vibe was definitely off. My eyes looked over at Gil, only to see him staring my way. He must have noticed the aura too.
"So, what're you guys getting?" I asked, in order to break the ice.
Gil was the first to chime in, "Well, I'm thinking about getting the Thai bowl."
I nodded, "Yeah, that sounds good. I might get the coconut shrimp." We glanced at Janet and Grace.
"Oh, I might get the same as Gil." Janet said, only leaving Grace to answer. We turned to her, observing her silent demeanor. Her eyes were glued to the menu, but they weren't moving. She must be zoned out. Janet softly nudged her. "What about you, baby? What are you getting?"
Grace's eyes gradually moved up to meet mine. She looked so... empty. "I haven't decided." She muttered out, barely above a whisper.
"Speak up, love. It's hard to hear you." Janet replied, rubbing Grace's back.
I watched as she tensed up a bit and met eyes with Janet, "I said, I haven't decided yet."
They stared at one another for a moment as Gil and I watched. Something was up. I cleared my throat and slid my chair back, "I'm finna go to the bathroom. Will you come with me, sis?" I stood up and waited for her answer, but all she did was stare at Janet. "Grace?"
"I'll come with you-" Janet tried to speak, but I cut her off.
"No offense, but I'm talking to my sister. Not you."
She threw her hands up a bit in defense as I gently pulled Grace with me. She stood slowly and followed as I held her hand. Once we were in the stall, I turned to look at her.
"Sissy? Come on, now, you gotta talk to me."
She stared at the ground, avoiding eye contact. "Ain't nothin to talk about, Ry."
"Like hell it ain't. I don't know what y'all got goin' on, but it ends here."
"Nothing is goin' on."
I scoffed and crossed my arms. "Oh forreal? Fine, then pinky promise me."
She remained still for a moment, before mumbling, "...she smelled like gardenias."
I furrowed my eyebrows, "Huh?"
For the first time in this bathroom, she finally made eye contact with me, "...she was around another woman."
My eyes widened, "She? As in your mothafuckin' wife??" I could feel my blood boiling. "I swear I'll kill her if she fuckin' some other hoe-"
"Stop." Her hand laid against mine. "Don't bring it up. Don't be mean. Just... let's go back."
I frowned deeply and shook my head, "Fine, but hold on. I gotta pee. You staying with me tonight, by the way." Before she had a chance to counter the offer, I pushed her out of the stall and locked it.
"Ry! Please, I just want to be around my babies."
I snorted, "Bring my niece and nephews, ion mind."

Janet's POV
Gil and I sat in silence once they left to the bathroom.
"Aight, bitch. What did you do?"
I snickered and shook my head, staring at the menu, "Y'know, I may get the chicken curry instead."
