Past

A long time has passed but her life never changed. Everything around her seemed to be different yet nothing changed, just for her. Constant quarrels with her mom, being abused is like her everyday schedule. Her drunk mother never gave a shit about her existence nor cared about her.

She said she wanted a son, a boy who could be raised as a big man, a man of his word. But here, she is raising her only child, a girl, a female who has no knowledge of the world. A girl who is utterly useless and she takes her anger out by abusing her.

Why can't everyone be equal? Rosé thought while walking through the pavement and wondering over the things that were never bound to happen. The sound of a laugh reached her ears and she instantly turned her head meeting a back of the boy's head. His back was facing her and it looked like he was talking to his friends while laughing.

Unknown of the persons identity, she closed her eyes in bliss, hearing him laugh. Like a miracle it was for a brief moment the laughing stopped. She opened her eyes and looked back at him to meet his back again. What a melodic laugh it was. It was like a music to her ears, she wanted hear him again, once more.

Rosé sighed in disappointment, who does she think, she is. She is just a mere pathetic girl, claimed worthless and the outcast of both school and her home itself. She can never have a peace of mind, never enjoy a bit of happiness. She will never be able to get out of this hell of a thing called life.

She walked away back to her house, just meet with pair of red eyes looking at her like she's some kind of criminal. Who succeeded in escaping the prison.

"Where were you Ms. Park?" Her mother asked, venom dripping from her voice as Rosé was quite sure there's a drastic punishment on it's way. Her mom looked at her, her eyes screamed malice and the warning of disrespecting her mother and sneaking out of the house was evident.

"M-mother i just w-wanted some f-fresh air." She badly strutted while her mom was on verge of making the hell break loose. What's she so angry about. She wanted a little bit of piece and her mom was here to destroy everything she enjoys a bit about. If she hates her so much, why didn't she kill her the day she was born.

"Hmm, fresh air." The whip on her hand was evident. It was a black  coloured leather whip. She swung it on air and a gash of the air blew few strands of her face harshly as she glared at her daughter. "Wanna try? I bought a new one, today!" Fake amusement glittered her eyes as she talked to Rosé.

On the other hand, Rosé was on verge of crying just by looking at it. Her eyes were watered and her rosy lips parted for a beg of mercy yet no voice came out of her. She sobbed for a moment before sniffing and looking at her glaring mother.

Rosé nodded "I will take the punishment." She replied. Her mom nodded and said "Take off your shirt and bare your upper body. I don't want to see a cloth on you, while i remind you, how worthless you are. Even the air you breath in doesn't deserve someone like you." She raged.

"Now go, lay on your stomach, with your hands up on air while i whip you. Do you obey me my little kitten?" She asked softly petting Rosie's hair like a dog and giving a vicious smile.

Rosé instantly nodded and ran inside. She took of her shirt then her bra and slowly laid on bed with her hands, resting on the headboard.

"Good girl." Her mom praised while walking to her and closing the door behind. "Now let me make this one thing clear. You will never go out again, just go to college and return back home. Will you?" She softly spoke in a motherly voice.

"Yes mother." She replied. Her mom laughed for nothing and slowly took the whip, bringing it up and then back down harshly making the skin contact with the bare back of the poor girl.

"One!"

Just like that, the whole afternoon the neighbourhood echoed with painful screams of mercy. Yet no one dared to speak it out.

This pain, it won't last forever. Nothing does.
