Ever since Jimin disappeared again, Jungkook was unable to think straight. He was failing miserably at the following games, ranking lower than any year before. While the competitive part of him was pissed about that, a bigger part couldn't care less. His thoughts circled around one thing, and one thing only: Jimin. Jimin, Jimin, Jimin.
Jungkook's wolf was all churned up inside, uneasy, constantly looking around the field. He hated to admit that he was looking for the omega and he was painfully aware of how desperate his alpha was to find him; the source of his all-time favorite fragrance.
Jungkook told himself that this wasn't him. Jungkook wasn't affected by Jimin, no. Jungkook hated omegas, and he hated Jimin. It was his stupid alpha and his primal instincts that he just couldn't control. He was pissed at his body for betraying him like that, seeking the omega that smelled just so freaking mouthwatering, even better than he remembered.
Pictures of the past flashed before his eyes, only now he visualized the older version of themselves, nuzzling Jimin's neck, inhaling his flowery-vanilla scent, his lips grazing his silky smooth skin, the omega's content little sighs, and how he willingly cranes his neck to give him more access—
Gosh, stop!
His heart was beating faster and his pants were getting tighter just thinking about that, especially since Jimin's scent was still so fresh, almost as if a trace of it was still lingering in the air just to mess with his sanity.
Why, out of all the people in the world, was his alpha obsessed with this omega's scent? Why couldn't his girlfriend smell like that? Apart from the fact that she was a beta and they all smelled rather plain.
Speaking of which...
»Kook-ah! Hey!« Lalisa was running towards him, but he only realized it when she was literally jumping on him, her legs hugging his waist tightly. Even though her body was quite lean, she was strong and therefore able to keep herself up, while Jungkook was barely putting in any effort to keeping her in his arms, his hands mindlessly resting on her hips.
His relationship with Lalisa was pretty innocent and more like a friendship anyway, but from the outside they looked like the perfect pair. Both were wildly popular and an alpha-beta couple was always a welcomed match in today's society. She was his age, older only by a few months, but she never missed a chance to rub it in his face in a teasing way. She was extroverted, a lot more than Jungkook, and she was also the one who made the first move on his 13th birthday party a little over a year ago.
Having the same group of friends and being in the same class, they were friends way before they became a couple. Nothing really changed, except... well, the physical part. Though they haven't gone all the way yet, they experimented from time to time and it was nice. She was familiar and she was pretty, but nothing really compared to the way he had felt when he scented Jimin all those years ago.
It often left Jungkook frustrated, because now he was 14 and back then he was only 6, and he desperately wanted to experience this feeling again, but everytime he scented Lalisa he was just dissatisfied and disappointed. Not because she didn't smell nice, but because it wasn't the same. It wasn't gardenia flowers and vanilla, it was just... plain and neutral and it did nothing to his body. Whereas Jimin's scent did everything to his body and Jungkook just thought that was very unfair, given the fact that he wanted to stay as far away from omegas as possible.
Looking down at him now, Lalisa cupped his cheeks. Jungkook didn't look at her though. Instead, his eyes were roaming over the field in hopes of spotting that black haired boy that vanished a few minutes ago. »Hey, what's up with you? You seem off.«
