"I liked that what I was doing would make people feel safe. Steve Rogers was the kind of guy who could do that, he gave me hope. Even though I never met him, he feels like a brother."

Sam sighs and lifts his hands in surrender. He knows, as much as he trusts Deanna and Bucky, neither of them is going to give in. Leaving her with Joaquin, he takes the stairs to join Bucky on the ground.

Almost instantly, the former assassin greets him in a very unkind way. "Shouldn't have given up the shield." His eyes lie on the sun kissed skin from the brunette above. For just a moment, he allows himself to admire the way her hair falls from her head, but Bucky tells himself he saw better. A lie, though there are a lot of beautiful women out there and in his opinion they're all beautiful.

"Good to see you too, Buck," Sam reconsiders taking Bucky with him, Deanna wouldn't stress about the shield. Although she loved Steve as a friend and was very thankful for what he did, she understands why Sam gave up the shield.

"This is wrong." Bucky follows Sam to the Helicarrier.

"Hey, hey, look, I'm working, all right? So all this outrage is gonna have to wait."

"You didn't know that was gonna happen?"

"No, of course I didn't know that was gonna happen," he stops and Buck with him. "You think it didn't break my heart to see them march him out there and call him the new Captain America?"

"Steve didn't want this."

"Oh, my God. What do you want me to do? Call America and tell 'em I changed my mind? Huh?" Now Sam completely thinks about taking Deanna with him and chuckles. "Yeah, right. It's a great reunion, buddy, be well." He starts walking again and already wants to call out for Deanna.

But Bucky cuts him off. "You had no right to give up the shield, Sam."

And Sam turns back around. "Hey. This is what you're not gonna do. You're not gonna come here in your overextended life and tell me about my rights. It's over, Bucky. Besides, I have bigger things to deal with now."

Deanna watches the guys and leans against the railing, her arms supporting her body. "They'll die, Quin. If that guy was a super soldier, these two are gonna die."

Joaquin chuckles to himself, his eyes trailing over her body. Smart, beautiful, tough. There must be a reason why she doesn't go with them. Barnes isn't a risk for her, she could easily handle him. "Why don't you go with them then?"

"Morgan-"

"Morgan has her mother, right? And the friend who's also the driver? They'll make it out alive, and you'll be home in a week. Everything will play out fine, why not take the chance?"

Standing back up, Deanna turns around and furrows her brows. "Chance? Which chance?"

"A mission with Sam. He told me a bit about your mission together when you helped SHIELD or the Avengers. Also, he might need help with Redwing..."

"Fine," she breathes out and before Joaquin can answer anything, she already took the stairs.

Sam and Bucky don't even notice the woman joining them. "The big three." The Falcon states.

"What Big Three?"

"Androids, aliens, and wizards."

"That's not a thing."

"That's definitely a thing."

"No, it's not."

"Every time we fight, it's one of the three."

Deanna grins to herself and follows Joaquin to the helicarrier, listening to their conversation from afar.

"Who are you fighting now, Gandalf?"

Sam hesitates and frowns. "How do you know about Gandalf?"

"I read The Hobbit in 1937, when it first came out." Bucky retorts, squinting his eyes.

"So, you see my point?"

"No, I don't. There are no wizards."

"Doctor Strange."

"Is a sorcerer."

"Aha!" Sam chuckles, "A sorcerer is a wizard without a hat. Think about it. Right? I'm right. I just came up with that. It's crazy. But that's not the point. These guys aren't magical. They use brute force, like you, the incredibly annoying guy in front of me with the staring problem."

Now Deanna lets out a loud laugh. Having the men's attention, she gestures them to come on board. "Get in, losers, we're going shopping!"

Bucky frowns, confused, but follows Sam nevertheless and gets into the Helicarrier. The flight is pretty much silent, just Torres and Deanna catching up on each other's lives like they did a few nights ago and Deanna convincing Sam to catch her mid-air and carry her to their destination. Somehow she has to get there, right? When the alarm blares, she nervously puts on her helmet.

"One minute to drop off, guys," Quin does his job, then he pulls Deanna into a hug before she gets her earpiece.

"So, what's our plan?" Bucky looks back and forth between Deanna and Sam, putting in his earpiece. "Great. So no plan."

"Thirty seconds!" Torres exclaims over the open door while Sam puts his earpiece in as well.

"There's no way down for you. Enjoy your ride, Buck."

Deanna ignores the cock fight and tries to calm her own nerves with breathing exercises.

"No, you can't call me that."

"Why not? That's what Steve called you."

"Steve knew me longer, and Steve had a plan."

"Fifteen seconds to drop," she watches Joaquin's lips part with every letter.

Either Deanna's going to die in twenty seconds or she'll have a nice adrenaline kick.

"I have a plan."

"Really? What is it?" Sam winks at Bucky and jumps out without answering the question. "Great. Where's the chute?"

The brunette woman takes a deep breath, gives Torres a quick peck on the cheek, and jumps after her friend. The two men left can hear her screaming "Wohoo!" from the adrenaline kick.

"We're at 200 feet. It's too low for a chute," with a light blush on his cheeks, Joaquin gestures to the outside.

Trying to be the tough guy he wants his friends to see him as, Bucky looks out of the plane, getting really to follow Sam. "I don't need it anyway." He rips off the sleeve that covers his metal arm.

"You sure about that?"

"Yeah."

Hearing him over the earpiece, Sam sends Redwing to record Bucky's fall. He lets Deanna fall from a save height and lands nearby when they both hear the super soldier screaming. The woman rolls over the ground and stops with her legs crossed, sitting on the ground. Face in her hands she can't help it but laugh.

Sam grins and joins her, mocking Bucky over the communication. "I have all of that on camera. You know that, right?"

The Latina gets up and knocks the dirt off her clothes, hearing Bucky's answer makes her laugh again.

"Get out of my face, Sam, or I'll break it." Even the last breath seems to be knocked out of him.

"Okay, head north. Come on."
