July 7

"So I got your graduation gift semi-done."

I laugh. "It's like July, and it's semi-done?"

He grabs my hands with a laugh. "Follow."

We get to the guest bedroom. "Open the door."

I slowly creak the door open to the room that doesn't get used besides for some storage.

"Holy crap. Mark..." I say, walking into the room that is now a baby girl's room. "I thought we were doing this together, and so I can budge it."

"You don't have to worry about paying me back

"You don't have to worry about paying me back. I had some friends that had new baby stuff and their baby sadly passed away

"Aww..."

"And stuff that got used a few times, and I had to buy a few new things, but you are all set, girl."

I jump onto him and hug him. "Thank you, thank you," I say excitedly. I kiss his cheek.

"There is a little more bit to do, but I left that for you."

I quiet myself down. "How did I not know this was getting done? I always know what's up."

"Not this time! I did it when you were away, and I always locked the door."

"I can't wait to buy her a baby blanket and a stuffed animal that she will keep onto her teen years and maybe her adult years."

"Like how you held onto yours?"

"Mother like daughter."

So as it's July already, prom obviously did not happen for someone. Since graduation day, I haven't seen or been to the Menendez family. Erik and I both agreed that going together would cause more problems, so he went with a girl, and he said he had a pleasant time from what he said on the phone.

The walkie-talkie doesn't work since I moved, so we just call on the landline. I stayed home for the dance and watched tv alone, eating snacks while Mark was at work. I kinda really wanted to go, so I could experience it because I have never gone to a high school dance before, but I will make sure my princess attends at least one. Forasmuch-as the Menendez parents, they have been keeping Erik away from me. They really really hate me, and I am all for it. I am not going to proceed to be fake around them. They lost my respect a long time ago.
