What If It Never Happened? (OMORI AU) (COMPLETED)

Chap 3 pt 2.

I couldn't describe what it looked like, There were hands all over it. And eyes, staring directly at me. I didn't know what to do, so I lunged towards it and attacked.

It didn't affect this thing. I frantically thought over what to do, while panicking as it hit me with great force. I fell on the floor and looked at it with great fear.

"Don't be afraid." said a voice. I looked around to see where it was coming from. It was a familiar voice..

"You're stronger than you think. First you need to calm down Sunny."

I was a bit shocked, but less afraid. Calming down...? I guess I'll try that.

I breathed in, then breathed out. As I opened my eyes, I was at the end of the staircase, and it was bright again. In front of me the so-called infinite staircase was very short.

RING! The doorbell rang again. I walked towards it, and heard a voice.

"Hey Sunny! It's me Kel, been a while huh? I saw a moving sign on your street and wondered if you wanted to hang out on your last days here!"

Kel, he was at the door. I felt calmer than before. I wonder, is he still shorter than he was 4 years ago. He did want to get taller than his brother.

I opened the door, looking at Kel. He had the same features, but he was really taller than before. I broke my neck to look at him, without expression as usual to hide what happened.

Kel looked surprised, and relieved. "Woah, I didn't expect you to open the door!" He then observed me carefully. "You haven't changed a bit! How are you doing?"

I looked at him with no response.

"Understandable! Anyways, wanna hang out?" Kel grinned his classic earful grin.

I nodded. It has been a while. I wonder, what do the others look like and what are they up to now?

Kel hugged me, "Awesome!" He then marched out of my door happily and I followed him along, the hug felt nice, after spending my time alone being cold and sad.

I kept the knife in my pocket, just in case something happened. I knew how to calm down, so that was good.

Kel skipped towards the sidewalk, I noticed his house was next to mine, so I tried going towards it.

"Hey Sunny, I don't think that's a good idea right now! My house is a tight mess since Hero is coming over from college, maybe later?"

I blinked. Hero was already at college? I missed a lot. I remember him being the charming 15 year old who loved cooking, and he was tall as Kel is now, did he get taller? As I thought, Kel looked over to me and waved his hand over my face. I blinked and looked at him.

"Sunny! Are you good? You blanked out for a second." I nodded, inside I was a bit embarrassed. I walked ahead of Kel to avoid what had happened and was trying to go straight ahead, in this bright neighborhood.

"Sunny, where are you going? The park's this way!"

We were going to the park? I didn't realize there was a park around here. I forgot that it existed. I nodded and went back to Kel.

Kel looked at me sympathetically. "I understand, you've been shut in for a long time that you forgot your way around here. But it's fine, your buddy Kel can help!" He gave a happy thumbs up. We both then started going to the road near the playground, and the area was FILLED with trees. I do sort of remember this area. It was pleasing looking at these trees.

As we walked to the sidewalks, I spotted the sign for the playground. Kel and I crossed the road, and we stood near the entrance of the playground. The playground looked vaguely similar to the one in my dreams. But it was more colorful and different in it's own way.

I walked over to the swings and stared at them. It was quite interesting and a bit rusty. I saw Kel looking over at me grinning, "Yup! Those are the swings-"

"Please can you talk to her?" Said a whimpering voice right beside us. Kel and I looked over and saw two people talking to each other, one was a boy who was standing a bit nervous, and the other was a girl who was on a bike edgily.

"Get away from me, creep!" Said the edgy girl rudely. "Why don't YOU ask her?!"

The boy looked defeated, "B-But she stole it from me..."

Kel came over as I went behind him to see what was going on. "What's going on here?" He sounded a bit concerned with a bit of anger.

"Nothing, unless you tell this creep to shut up." The girl pointed at the boy. Kel looked at him, "Basil? What are you doing here, are you ok?"

Basil looked at Kel, "I'm fine," he then looked at me. It was awkward to see Basil now, clearly we've both grown a lot. He seemed just a teensy bit taller than I and different.

"Sunny..?" He looked startled, and surprised. Of course I just stared back at him without expression. Like usual, even to my closest friend.

Kel was looking at the girl. "Kim, what's going on? And why did you call Basil a creep?" Kim scoffed her eyes. Kel then crossed his arms.

Kim yelled, "AUBREYYYY" I hesitated a bit, while Basil looked down and Kel just looked at me and then Kim. Wait a minute, Aubrey was here?

A pink haired gang leader came, and gave us all angsty glares. She looked a bit terrifying.

"Hi Aubrey.." Kel sighed. Aubrey looked so different. Like very different. She wasn't the 12 year old Aubrey I knew in headspace. She wasn't this angsty and terrifying!

I blankly looked at Aubrey coming here, and when she reached she looked at Kim, then Basil and Kel, then suddenly her terrifying expression changed into shock when she saw me.

"What the hell? What are YOU doing here?" She had a bat with nails on them, that was scary.

Kel looked at me with another sigh, "Yeah, so this is Aubrey, as you know. She changed, alot." Basil just continued looking down without saying anything.

"Ugh, why did you call me Kim?" She then glared at Kim who was staring at her. "Oh, well the nerd was asking creepily about the thing you took."

Aubrey looked at Basil. "If you came to ask me to hand it back to you, suck that crap up your behind. I am not doing that."

Kel looked at Aubrey. "Aubrey, don't say that, and what did you take from Basil?!"

I was just standing there looking at all of them, just observing. I looked at Basil again, who was just unresponsive. I felt a bit angry.

Aubrey yelled at Kel, "Why are YOU even here you nerd? If you want me to talk, come and fight me." She was in a fighting stance.

"I guess there's no coming out of this..." Kel sighed. "Let's do this Sunny." I went beside Kel to stick up for Basil. (Like I had a choice)

Kel threw his basketball at Aubrey. She seemed ticked off, and headbutted Kel, Kel let out a groan and looked at me. He gave a thumbs up, I felt even angrier than before. I looked at Aubrey, and glared at her as I lunged and slashed her hand with a knife.

Kel stared at me with utter shock, and so did Basil and Kim and Aubrey. Aubrey's gang just came here to see the action, and they were staring at me too. Aubrey looked at me, then it turned into an angry glare. She looked at Kel then at Basil and her gang. "What the hell.."

I couldn't say anything, or even think anything. Didn't I defeat her from hurting Basil and Kel? Why was everyone staring at me like this? It should've been Aubrey because she's the one who changed and was being a jerk.

"You haven't changed one bit..." She then got up. "Psychopath." She ran full speed ahead.

Kim looked at me and chased after Aubrey, the gang followed along as well.

Psychopath..? I was a bit confused.
