The beach was fun. The Blades did end up going home while you and your friends stayed the night sleeping on the sand or in the van. You all went home the day after and you spent Saturday working around the shop. Sunday was mostly you sleeping in and catching up on the YouTube videos you've been neglecting.
And thus, the week began anew and you had to go back to school on Monday. God awful Monday.
You never related to an orange cat so much.
You let out a yawn as you pulled your shoes on. You were already dressed in your uniform and you had your bag ready. Right when you got your last shoe on, the door to the apartment opened.
You heard the familiar jingle of the keys and turned to find your mom enter. She looked tired. Made sense considering she'd been working both nights and days. She also had groceries with her, which you were quick to help out with.
Y/N: Hey, Ma. Let me get those.
Your mom smiled as you took the bags from her. You carried them to the counter while your mom took off her shoes. She was still wearing her scrubs that you had bought her for mother's day earlier in the year.
Mom: Thank you, sweetie.
Y/N: You look exhausted.
Mom: Well, you know how it is. Thankfully I'm off until tomorrow. I can catch up on my sleep.
You smiled a bit. You will always love your mom. She has done so much for you ever since your dad passed away. Plus, she's always been so damn supportive of you.
But raising a kid doesn't come cheap and neither does rent, so she often worked whenever she could.
Mom: How was the beach?
She turned to you to see that you were putting the groceries away already.
Y/N: It was good. Ran into some schoolmates, but we were civil.
Mom: That's good. You didn't touch my stash, did you?
You let out a low laugh.
Y/N: No, mom. That's old people stuff. We smoke crack now.
Your mom smiled at your joke.
Mom: Well, I need to take a shower and go lay down. Have a good day at school, hun.
Y/N: Course. I'll see you when I get back.
Your mom kissed your cheek and headed towards her room. You watched her for a moment until she was out of view. You then let out a sigh.
You shook your head and headed out for the day.

Across town, Evelynn did her makeup when there was a knock on her door. She looked back as it opened.Nocturne: Hey, you ready?
Evelynn: Just about.
Nocturne: Alright. We'll be downstairs. Please don't make us wait for another hour. Shaco can't get another tardy.
Evelynn nodded to her brother and he closed the door. Evelynn turned back to her makeup and closed the case. She grabbed her bag and started towards her door but stopped when she heard someone yelling outside.
She walked over to the window and looked out to see that her dad had come home and was on the phone.
She rolled her eyes and went to join her brothers downstairs.
Once she reached the bottom of the stairs, she found herself lifted off the ground in a tight hug.
Sion: There's my favorite little sister! 'Bout time you showed up on time.
