Mirrored Memories (A ShayMien + ShayNoah AU)

I will always love you.

Days pass by, and Shayne slowly spiralled to a depression from thinking about the memories he had Noah back when they were still together.

Shayne was still able to come to work, but he never talked to anyone when they were on breaks, which slowly started getting everyone in the Smoffice concerned at him and his well-being.

Shayne soon started losing his appetite, which caused him to get thinner. His muscles became more defined, but since he still was not talking much, everyone in the Smoffice saw this as a red flag.

One day, while at work, Shayne thought to himself, "It's been a while since I talked to someone here. I know they're probably concerned about me, but I'm not yet ready to open up to them... especially Damien."

When everyone went on lunch break, Shayne sat alongside Courtney, Damien, Keith, and Olivia.

Keith wrapped his left arm around Shayne's shoulder and said, "If you've got any problem, don't be afraid to spit it out, dude." Courtney then told him, "We're ready to lend you some ears." Olivia butted in and added, "We can tell you're going through something, so don't be afraid to say what's on your mind." Damien blurted out, "We'll always help you, Shayne."

Shayne faked a smile and nodded.

Afterwards, Courtney, Damien, Keith, and Olivia started eating. Shayne stood up and said, "Uh, guys, if you don't mind... I'm just gonna go to the comfort room for a bit." Damien replied, "Sure, man. But be back quick, though."

So, Shayne went to the comfort room.

When he went inside, Shayne sat on one corner of the room and started crying. All of a sudden, he heard someone flush the toilet in an occupied cubicle. So, he softened his voice while still crying.

A few seconds later, Ian came out from the cubicle that he used and noticed Shayne crying.

He approached Shayne, crouched down behind him, tapped his shoulder, and asked, "Shayne? Are you OK?" Shayne didn't answer, and instead turned around to hug Ian tightly.

Ian hugged Shayne back.

Then, Ian asked him, "What's wrong, Shayne? Why are you crying?" Shayne replied, "I... I miss Noah... Why did he keep that secret from me?" Ian pat Shayne's back to comfort him. After that, Ian shushed Shayne and told him, "I know, Shayne. All of us here at Smosh miss him."

Ian continued comforting Shayne.

Then, Shayne said, "I'm so sorry for shutting everyone here at Smosh out. I... I still find it hard to talk about Noah now." Ian replied, "Everything will be OK, Shayne. And you can always come to me whenever you need help. Sure, you've got the Squad and Smosh Games to help you, too, but Shayne, I hope you know that I, too, will be there for you, OK?"

Shayne stopped crying and nodded.

Then, Shayne went back to sit alongside Courtney, Damien, Keith, and Olivia. The four of them saw Shayne's red eyes, which caused them to be more concerned with Shayne.

A few hours later, the clock struck 5:00 pm.

Everyone started making their way back to their houses. When Shayne arrived at his house, he went to his bathroom and locked himself up.

Then, Shayne grabbed his iPhone and tapped on iMessage.

He texted Damien, saying:

"hi, Damien. I'm sorry for lying 2 u all this time. and I'm sorry 4 not telling u about who I've been thinking about. I want u 2 know that everything I told u that day was true. hope u find someone to love u like I did. I wish u the best. I love u 4ever, Dames... thanks 4 everything xoxo"

Afterwards, Shayne grabbed a razor from his mirror drawer.

Then, he looked up on the ceiling of his bathroom and said to himself, "Noah, I'm sorry, too. I promise I tried so hard to tell Damien about you, but how you left still hurts. I could've helped you, baby..."

Shayne closed his eyes and started slitting cuts across his right forearm after that.

A few cuts later, Shayne opened his eyes and continued cutting himself until he reached the vein. Then, Shayne shakily grabbed the razor with his right hand and said to himself, "Goodbye, Damien. And I'll... I'll see you soon, Noah."

Shayne switched the razor to the other side and started cutting his left forearm with it.

When Damien received Shayne's text, he said to himself, "I knew he was still hiding something from me." But after thoroughly reading what Shayne said, he thought to himself, "Oh, no. That means... Oh, God. I have to come over. Goddamn it, Shayne... Please be OK when I arrive."

Damien immediately drove to Shayne's house.
