Oneshot #5 Crush (Lila x Reader)

A/N: You and Lila are childhood friends.

You knocked on the door to Lila's room. The door opened and you grin at her, she smiles back.

"Hey, I'm so glad you came," She lets you inside and you sit on her bed,"my muscles ache and I'm in need of one of your massages" she lays down next to you.

"Oh? And why is that" You asked as you moved to lay down as well.

"Oh you know me, I was helping the elderly carry their groceries."

"You are such a kind person, Li" Your eyes shined with adoration.

A blush spread across Lila's face going unnoticed by you. She turned to lay on her tummy and hid her face in a pillow. You silently chuckled shaking your head at her actions.

Lila lifted her head at the sound of your laughter. She stared at you feeling her love for you grow. As much as she wanted to give in and confess she didn't want to ruin the one friendship she truly held dear.

She didn't want to lose the only person she wholeheartedly considered a friend.

She was brought out of her thoughts when you moved your knees to either side of her and placed your hands on her back.

She stilled at the feeling.

"I'm gonna start now, feel free to sleep." Lila nodded as you began massaging her back.

"Are you gonna stay the night?"

"Yeah, your mom had already called my mother before I left the house."

"Hm"

She let out relaxed breaths before closing her eyes and giving in to the warm embrace of sleep.

Hearing her small snores you softly smiled. The thought of helping her unwind after a long day of school brought you joy.

Once you finished you got one of Lila's  rare hoodies and put it on. You layed down facing her, admiring her features. You pulled the covers over the both of you and went to sleep.

The next day as the both of you headed towards school Lila began telling you about what she's been up to.

"I can't believe you're best friends with Ladybug! That's so cool!" You looked at her with stars in your eyes.

You suddenly stopped causing her to do the same.

"Y/N?"

You dramatically brought the back of your hand to your forehead and threw your head back.

"I can't believe you've replaced me, Li" She laughed at your antics.

"I'll never replace you, you dork."

"Oh yeah? Then if Ladybug is your bestfriend what am I?" You childishly pointed an accusing finger at her. Her expression became serious causing you to slightly falter.

"You're my lover."

A bright blush coated your cheeks, but once you registered her monotonous tone you let out an awkward laugh.

She stood there dumbfounded not expecting to have said those words. Clearing her throat she gave a dry chuckle.

"A-anyways, Ladybug has been helping me in finding a way to ask Adrien out."

You slightly slouched as you both continued walking seeing that you were nearing the school. Right. She loves Adrien not me..

"Oh, that's nice of her, if you ever need anything I'm here."

"I know"

When you reached the entrance you took notice of Marinette hiding behind a bush and Alya standing next to her shaking her head in dissapointment. Following Marinette's  line of sight, your eyes landed on Adrien who stood holding a rose as he nodded at Nino when he spotted the two of you making your way up the steps.

You gave Nino a questioning look when he took your hand and guided you away from the two but within earshot.

"Can you give them some time alone, please? Adrien has something he wants to do." You nodded at his words and he left to be with Alya.

You leaned against the wall as you watched Adrien hand Lila the rose.

"Lila, would you go on a date with me? I-" You blocked out the rest as you  dejectedly lowered your head. At the same time you received a message, opening it you saw that it was from your mother.

She was here to pick you up to go to the airport. You weren't supposed to leave until after school, but the tickets had been incorrectly given and your flight was going to leave earlier.

As you solemnly walked down the steps to your mother's car you didn't dare to raise your head and see Lila and Adrien kissing. Just when you had  planned on telling her of your feelings today the universe decided to interfere.

It's for the best, she loved Adrien after all. I don't want to make her feel guilt for not being able to reciprocate my love for her.

Closing the door, you put on your seatbelt and looked at your lap trying to keep your emotions at bay.

The engine started up and you left with a heavy heart.

"WAIT! Y/N I LOVE YOU!"

You lifted your head and looked back to see Lila running trying to reach the car.

"Mom stop the car." She didn't spare you a glance and continued driving.

"Mom please." She accelerated.

You lowered your head knowing it was hopeless to get her to stop now.

Still, hearing Lila say she loved you made it better even if you didn't know when you will meet her again.

All that mattered was that you loved her and she loved you.
