I am in no way a writer or an author of any kind. I do not dream to be an author. With that said, you are wondering why I'm writing on Wattpad then. And that is simply because I don't know how to draw webtoons, if I could, I would be creating a webtoon instead of writing stories.

I want to share my stories because I have an overactive imagination, which makes up stories and scenarios in my head. I legit had a whole discontinued sitcom going in my head.

I hesitated on writing any stories because I was worried that no one would find it interesting or even read it. Or that I may not be able to professionally write at all. But as I read more books on Wattpad, I thought, if this is what the competition looks like, then I can write my book. Because only me know the kind of story I want to tell, a story that is not cliche (like every other book on this app) and a story that only I know well.

Also, because I want to see stories of POCs. I want to see someone like me be the love interest in the book, tv show or movie, I want to see nerdy, awkward, complexed, rich, smart, self-absorbed, egotistical, arrogant, characters that are POCs. Instead of just having us play the same role over and over, give us new roles. I want to see a black girl play a role like Katniss Everdeen, or Tris (in Divergent) or leads like "Mean girls, Clueless, Maredith Gray and many others.

Instead, we are only the token friend, co-worker, semi relevant character, or we are playing roles that has to do with our skin color. Why can't we just do stupid things?

I know some of you may be thinking, "But there are movies, tv shows and books with black leads or leads of color" and to that I say how many of those are old, and how many can you count out on your fingers? and how many movies, shows and books with white leads can you count out on your fingers? Just because we already have some does not meant more cannot be made.

Why can't I have movies, shows or books with POC leads between the age of 16-25. Just being themselves. And have the whole story not be about our skin color, background. And other cliche roles or character personalities or background.

Obviously, I can't sit back and wait for someone to write these books for me. So, that's why I want to write on Wattpad. Because I want to write stories that shows POCs more than just our skin color, backgrounds, or stereotypical personalities.
