TW: MENTION OF ABUSE

"Good morning, Kemper," Ashton greeted, which woke Luke up. "Can I come in?"

"Yes," Kemper nodded as Luke sat up to see Ashton walking past the chair.

"And good morning sleepy head," Ashton greeted his friend, making Luke chuckle as he rubbed his temples. "I got you a present, Kemper," he handed her the bag. Kemper opened the bag, pulling out a security blanket which made her smile.

"You got me a new blankie," Kemper grinned.

'I did," Ashton nodded as Kemper hugged the yellow blanket that had little white flowers on it.

"Thank you," Kemper smiled and Ashton gave her a hug.

"Anything for you," Ashton said, making her giggle.

"I'm gonna go clock in," Luke told the two and Ashton nodded. Luke left quickly to clock in, then came back to Kemper's room and took the IV out, then checked on her vitals.

"Kemper, today we're going to try to walk around with Sierra," Luke told her. "But Ashton and I have to go check on other patients, Michael and Sierra will probably check on you when they get here,"

"Ok," Kemper nodded. The two left, making their rounds, which left Kemper in her room alone. It was clear she barely slept, but she didn't care. She turned on the TV and put on a movie, but Sierra had entered before she could really get into it.

"Hi sweetheart," Sierra smiled lightly. It was clear that she didn't sleep either, but neither commented on each other's appearance. "I got your unicorn," Sierra held it up, making Kemper smile happily. She gave the little girl the toy, which Kemper hugged tightly.

"Thank you," Kempder thanked her.

"You're welcome," Sierra smiled. "Can I check on your bruising? I won't touch it,"

"Ok," Kemper nodded. Sierra lifted her gown and took a look, sighing.

"Does it hurt more or less or the same?"

"More," Kemper admitted and Sierra nodded.

"Alright, I'm gonna look into ordering an ultrasound for you,"

'I'm not pregnant," Kemper said, making Sierra laugh.

"An ultrasound can be used for other things too," Sierra reassured her. Kemper nodded as she laid back down, "we're going to walk around today first, and if it hurts a lot we have to get an ultrasound," Kemper agreed, reluctantly. Sierra left to make her rounds as Michael came in with Calum behind him, carrying a DVD player and a movie with it while Calum carried some crayons and paper.

"Kemper, do you want to meet my friend, Calum?" Michael asked and Kemper nodded. "This is Calum, he treats kids like you, but since you're in the ER he can't," Michael explained.

'It's so nice to meet you Kemper," Calum smiled. "Michael brought you a DVD player and beauty and the beast, and I brought you crayons and a beauty and the beast coloring book,"

"Thank you," Kemper smiled happily. Michael hooked up the DVD player as Calum and Kemper colored, then Michael left to do his rounds.

"Your picture looks very pretty," Calum complimented her.

"It's for Sierra, do you know her?" Kemper asked and Calum nodded.

"I do,"

"She was really sad yesterday, so I'm coloring this for her,"

"That is very sweet," Calum smiled, remembering comforting Sierra yesterday with Kaykay as she cried in her office.
