One minute, Izuku was leaving the house to clear his mind. The next minute, he was standing at the gate of his best friends' home. He hears footsteps from behind the metal blue door, which open as soon as the owner of the home appears. Ochako looks at him in shock but was happy to see him nonetheless. "Deku! It's so good to see you!" She quickly hugs the quiet man and pulls away soon after he pats her back.
Izuku gives her a smile. "Hey Uraraka."
This was definitely not the Izuku Midoriya that she knew. Something was very wrong. "Uh oh, you're not your usual, perky self. What's going on?"
He chuckles, "I've just had a fucking train ride of emotions since yesterday. I really need someone to talk to."
Ochako pats his shoulder and leads him inside. "You've come to the right place! Tenya is finishing up at work for right now and he'll be picking Yui up from daycare. He should be back soon."
"It's fine. You're my best friend too."
"Oh I know, Tenya just gives better advice than me. So I think. Want anything to drink?"
Izuku shakes his head, even though the brunette did not see since her back was turned to him. "No, thank you. I don't think I can focus on drinking anything right now."
Ochako hums, "mm, okay."
She comes to the living room where Izuku sat quietly. Two cups of steaming tea in her hand. "I know you said you wouldn't drink anything. But just in case."
"Heh, thanks anyway", Izuku mumbles as he raises the cup to his mouth. Ochako mumbles 'careful' as he sips the hot liquid. Silence fall over the two. The woman did not want to rush her friend if he was feeling uneasy about his situation. Ochako was very patient with him, and Izuku was very thankful to her. "So...I went to Aoyama's party for the new children's hospital. And I ran...into Shouto."
Ochako's brown eyes grew in shock. She grabs her cup and drinks some tea before setting it down. She coughed as she tried to speak. "T-Todoroki. You–you saw him?"
"Yes."
"...W-well what happened afterwards?"
"We went back to his place. And...did some things—."
"You could've left that part out. My mind is dirty enough to get the gist."
"I didn't even give details, you weirdo...anyways, this morning I couldn't bear to leave him. And I felt really jealous when Sero came over. It was like...ugh, I don't know." Izuku really didn't know what to do. He knew he hadn't gotten over Shouto entirely. But he didn't want to interfere with his new life. Izuku loved him too much to get in the way of his passion.
"What do you want to do about it?"
Izuku turns his eyes away from the floor and back on Ochako. She had a small smile on her face, a way to make him feel a bit comfortable rather than be pressured. He only shrugs and looks away from her. The brunette sighs and stands up abruptly. "Deku, as your best friend since high school, I can not stand seeing you so sad like this. I know you love Todoroki and I get that this is complicated." When she doesn't see any motivation in him, she crosses her arms over her chest and frowns.
"Well, let me ask you this. Are you and Bakugou happy being with one another?"
Izuku felt a tight squeeze in his chest. He puts his hand over it to relieve it. His bottom lip trembled, Ochako had struck a home run on the obvious. "No", he says meekly. "We've been pretty distant these last few months. And I think Kacchan is talking to someone behind my back."
