Soooooooo. Nobody completed the challenge. Kinda sucks, I wanted to know but I guess it was up to you. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, you didn’t read the author’s note. Guys, sometimes those things have really important stuff in there. This time there wasn’t but I encourage you to read them. You don’t have to though I guess… But you should! I know I’m being contradictory but I don’t want to push you into doing something you’d rather not do. Just ignore me whatever. Okay then now that that is over, please enjoy chapter 13!

Louis’s POV

The delicious smell of tomatoes and... chicken? wafted from the kitchen into the living room. I could tell Skye was cooking something delicious. I hope it isn’t pigeon. Wait, why would she cook a pigeon? She isn’t heartless. Niall’s booming laugh erupted from beside me, jerking me from my thoughts. I decided to laugh a little too, if Niall was chuckling still it must’ve been funny, and I didn’t want to seem like I was lost in thought. My ears picked up on what Harry was whispering to Zayn next to me.

“So do you think she will?” Harry whispered quietly, but not enough for me not to hear.

“I don’t know mate. Try it at least,” Zayn offered.

“Hey lads! What’re you talking about?” I asked loudly, bringing the conversation out in the open.

“N-nothing!” he shouted, surprised that I had asked him so openly. I’d get him to tell me later though, I always did.

I decided to instead walk into the other room where Skye was cooking. She was humming the tune to Forever Young and dancing around the island in the middle while absentmindedly stirring something in a big boiling pot. I started to sing along with.

“Some are like water, some are like the heat. Some are a melody, some are the beat. Sooner or later they will all be gone, why don’t we stay young,” I sang softly, walking over and taking the spoon from her hand. She jumped from the contact, apparently not knowing that I was so close. The blush on her cheeks gave away her embarrassment for being caught singing.

“Hey! Give me my spoon back!” she pouted, crossing her arms.

“Only if you go and give it to Liam after you’re done with it. He… collects spoons,” I smiled, perfect plan to get back at Liam for leaving with Niall, leaving us stranded with Harry and Skye.

She gave me a confused look and then shrugged. “You’re a good singer though. Where’d you learn the harmonies for the song so well?”

“I forgot you know nothing about the band,” I teased. “We sang it on the X-factor. And you aren’t too bad yourself.”

“Are you kidding me? I sound like a dying walrus!” she shouted at me, waving the spoon in the air.

“Well then you are the prettiest walrus I’ve ever seen.”

“Is that a compliment?”

“I don’t know is it?”

“You tell me,” she smiled.

“No. Sing with me?”

A hot blush spread across her cheeks yet again. “O-okay. Umm. I’ll start,” she stuttered, and the notes began to pour from her mouth. “Let’s dance in style let’s dance for a while. Heaven can wait we’re only watching the skies. Hoping for the best but expecting the worst.

I joined in, “Are you going to drop the bomb or not? That was really good! Why aren’t you a singer?”

She paused for a moment, deep in thought before opening her mouth. “I-“

“Hey! What’re you two doing in here?” Harry suddenly burst in, interrupting our conversation. She almost looked relieved for a second.

“Nothing,” she smiled, picking up the spoon again and stirring the pasta in the pot some more.

With a mischievous grin on his face he took the spoon from her, spun around the counter and smacked her on the bum with it.

“Hey!” she exclaimed, her smile turning into a glare. “If you’re gonna do that you can get out.”

“What?”

“Get out of my kitchen Harry,” she pointed towards the door, a serious look plastered on her features.

He left with his shoulders hung low. “She used my own line against me,” he mumbled sourly.

She looked at the spoon, deep in thought. “Well I can’t keep cooking with this.” She went to go put the spoon in the dishwasher.

“Wait!” I stopped her. “Give it to Liam now. He’ll never know. I’ll keep cooking for you.”

“Okay,” she giggled, disappearing around the corner of the bar. A sudden scream erupted from the living room.

“Get it away! LOUIS!”

Point one for the Tommo.
