Harry Styles
"Oh thank god, oh my god, thank you," Harlow rushes her words.
"With the good news, comes a little bit of bad news," the doctor sighs looking between all of us.
I liked just hearing she was going to be okay. I don't know how much more bad news I can take tonight. I just want to see her.
"What is it?" Niall speaks up when the doctor stays silent as if he's waiting for us to be ready to hear him.
"The bad news, she isn't awake yet and visiting hours are over. Once we call and speak to her father we will see if he would like to come to stay with her. If not, with his approval one guest may stay with her for when she wakes up. She doesn't have any broken bones, she didn't have any cuts that needed stitches but we did find a large amount of Propofol in her system. After looking through her records we see she's never been prescribed that drug. Do any of you know if she would have taken it herself?" He asks.
My head lifts immediately.
"No, she definitely wouldn't!" Harlow turns quickly in Niall's arms to speak up.
"What's propofol?" I barely get out.
"It's an anesthetic, sir, it's side effects are unconsciousness and memory loss. When she wakes up, she will only remember what led up to her passing out and won't remember anything that happened to her. It's what's used by medical professionals during surgery," he explains. "She's going to need a good support system. I'd recommend a therapist as soon as she's ready. She's going to have a lot of questions when she wakes up and unfortunately those questions can't be answered unless she's able to remember."
"What's recovery going to look like?" Talia asks.
"Probably a few painkillers and lots of rest will have her healed within the next few weeks. She's going to be sore and tired. Her right side will most likely be in a little pain but the painkillers with help," he states. "We do however need to make an official police statement as soon as she wakes up and from the person that found her in case she decides to take any legal action."
"Thank you, thank you. If you don't mind we'd like to stay here until her father arrives," Harlow mumbles, her arms wrapped just as tightly around Niall as mine are around Iris.
"Of course, I'll send someone over as soon as we hear from him," he smiles before walking away.
She's going to be okay. Just some rest and painkillers.
I can't understand why someone would drug her, hurt her, and leave her unconscious on the pavement. There isn't a logical reason behind any of this. Clementine wouldn't hurt a fly, literally. There was a ladybug in my room a few days and she told me to catch and release it instead of just kill it. I even had to take it in the elevator to bring it outside because she didn't want it to fall out of the window. Why would anyone want to hurt her? I don't want to believe she was just an easy target or a victim of opportunity because why would they leave her like that.
"Hey wait," I call out to the doctor causing him to turn around. "Did you, uh, run a r-rape kit on her?" I hesitantly ask causing everyone to look in my direction.
"Yes, there were no signs of penetration in any form," he replies.
I nod putting my head back towards the floor needing a minute to process all this information. I don't understand what's going on. She had to of been a victim of opportunity because she's small and female. She doesn't look like a threat to anyone. At first glance, if she was a victim of opportunity, it doesn't make sense to drug her. I wouldn't assume they would think they couldn't overpower her. As strong as I know she is if someone wanted to grab her and take her or beat her up, they wouldn't need to be much bigger than her to do so. Unless they weren't bigger than her.
