It's been a while since the 'game' and the last I spoke to Jane about Liu, possibly about a week or more. I'm not mad at her nor irritated so I continued to speak to her. After those events, Eyeless Jack and Bloody Painter had been training me, more specifically Jack due to Bloody Painter's injury. However, his wound was healing quicker than expected so he was contributing more often to my training. I've been making slow progress with my attacks and skills, yet I am slowly enjoying it. I have to admit, learning how to fight is quite fulfilling and feels me with strength and energy. I normally just sit down at home with my phone or laptop and watch whatever there is on Netflix. Here, I'm restricted from the internet or any devices, which has been hard. Luckily, I have been preoccupied.
Other than the training, I have been getting along with everyone. I socialise with them and involve myself in some of their conversation, even if it's vulgar and gruesome. I would be lying if some of them like Jeff didn't pick a fight with another person in the mansion. It gets chaotic at times and I sometimes wonder how does Slenderman even cope with their aggressive behaviour everyday.
About everyday, Slenderman sends a few people out the mansion for 'missions' - Slenderman calls them that. The people who aren't asked for the missions still decide to go out anyways for their own satisfactions. Especially Hoodie, he goes out the most out of everyone else, which I find odd. I sometimes wonder what he makes him so occupied from outside the mansion. Nevertheless, it wasn't really my business so I left it alone.
The missions Slenderman sends are more or less simple tasks: in essence, kill the target. There are some different objectives such as "Leave no trace behind" or "Bring the target's body back to the mansion" but otherwise, kill the intended person. I have only seen Masky bring back a huge corpse in a raggedy body bag, it really smelled bad. Otherwise, I haven't seen anyone else carry a dead body to the mansion.
"Hit the bean bag straight, Ruby," Eyeless Jack repeated. "You keep hitting with the side of your fists which makes your attack less effective and accurate."
"Alright," I grunted.
The problem wasn't that I was aiming pathetically, I was missing on purpose because I know how tough that bean bag was. From the first time with Jeff, it really hurt. So I was slacking off today's training. I wasn't about to break the bone holding my wrist.
• As much as I agree about not wanting to lose your hands, you really have to try Ruby. You are not going to progress any further if you do not hit the bag correctly. I am not going to assist you this time •
I sighed, not caring that Jack and Bloody Painter could hear.
"I hate how you're always right," I thought. For once, I hit the punching bag properly. Like how Jack wanted me to. Swiftly, I hit the bag continuously and thought not much about pain that was starting to rise.
The first punch terribly sucked. Not because of the form but the response I got from the bag was throbbing. I kept punching the bag to bare the pain, so I increased the speed of my punches. I figured if I switched from my arms to my legs, the pain will hurt more on my wrist. God, this punching bag is for the pros, the experts. At the same time, I shared a dislike for the sack of dried beans and polystyrene piece of plastic. It just made me want to continue punching the bag, releasing all my anger out. I couldn't care that my hands would be bleeding out. I could not even care if I injured myself. All I wanted to do was hit the goddamn bag with the little brute strength I had.
