Slenderman paced the floor. The ticking clock was close to striking 3 and everyone was asleep or this fine early morning. His sharp shoes clicked on the wooden floors of his own room - the only sound that disrupted the silence aside the small clock. Slenderman didn't own a bedroom and only created this room for himself to give himself some privacy and isolation from the others when he didn't want to be bothered. The only people to visit his room often were Smile.Dog and Jeff, however Jeff only came in when he pissed off Slenderman. Neither of them were in the same room as Slenderman as of this moment. Slenderman was aware that the two had left the mansion together a few hours before the sun had set the other night. It was likely he wouldn't see them for another few days as well.
But that wasn't the reason why Slenderman was impatiently walking around the room. On the desk lay a couple of papers scattered randomly. There were different types of papers - newspapers, articles, magazines: any informative data he could collect about the Guardian Mother. Though, the magazines were merely all theories with no solid concrete evidence. Even then, the magazines were not accurate enough to talk about the existence of other creatures and monsters. The only reason for it laying on his desk was to stimulate the possible ideas or theories about the Easterwoods. The newspapers and articles were from yesterday's magic lesson with Ruby. Slenderman thought perhaps Ruby could assist in Slenderman's research, alas nothing new could be discovered.
Still, it was not the reason for his restless footsteps.
The eerie creaking sound echoed into his study room. Slenderman's mind was too fogged to realize that someone was entering the room. The door opened wide but slowly, Slenderman didn't even hear the knock.
"Who is it?" he queried.
From where he was standing, Slenderman couldn't see the other person. He stood on the far side of the room, in the corner between his shelf and the wall. For some reason, Slenderman couldn't feel the person's presence.
"Sally?" he spoke again, this time walking towards the door. Cautious, he was concerned if this was a prank by Sally or that it was just the mansion being haunting as usual. It can be equally either since Sally loves to prank Slenderman and halloween was approaching. The mansion's haunting would be at its peak during halloween and the days before and after.
Slenderman was now beside the door. He turned to look outside the entrance of his door and saw that no one was there. Not a single person in sight. It wasn't odd for him though. It would've made sense since he couldn't sense anyone at the door. Slenderman stepped outside and peaked his head into the hallway. He turned his head left and right. Absolutely no one. It was for reassurance if someone was awake. After coming to a conclusion, Slenderman headed back to his study room, making sure the door was kept shut.
He faced away from the door. A tall figure levitated right in front of him, almost too close to his liking. The tall figure, hovering higher than Slenderman. The figure wasn't taller than Slenderman if they were to stand on the ground, but they were definitely taller in this circumstance. Her glowing bloodshot eyes staring right at him, inching closer and closer. The figure's abnormal giant head, bigger than his head, was creeping his way. However, just out of a lucky glimpse, Slenderman could see that the body of the figure was rather small. The body, wearing all black and revealing, showed similar skin colours to him.
"Did you miss me, sir Slender?"
The familiar yet grating voice was a bit shrilling. And that forbidding grin of the woman - it wasn't creepy to Slenderman but it was visible that he was feeling discomfort. Slenderman knew her huge eyes were locked directly at his.
"What's wrong?"
Her voice fakely spoke again. Slenderman wished he could move but found it impossible. It was as if it was out of his own control. It was only a few seconds ago, Slenderman could move his legs to walk, arms to carry, head to twist or appendages to maneuver. In spite of that, his nerves felt disconnected to his entire body.
