"Keep going" I called to the two in front of me as I pulled a spray can from the bag. I turned back to plaster angel warding on the wall behind me and moved on. I placed more on the door of the room we were in, "Ok, I'm doing it, I'm calling them" I said, pulling out my phone,

"I thought you said they'd be mad" Jack said,

"Well I'd rather be yelled at than killed" I pulled up Dean's number and called it. He took forever to answer the phone and when he did, he already started chewing me out,

"Grace! Where the hell are you? You better be calling because it's life or death"

"Yes Dean! We are!" I yelled over him,

"Yeah of course, is Jack with you?"

"Yes"

"Tell him, his mother's grounded him"

"Do you think we care about groundings right now?! We're trapped with angels just outside" I felt a large shockwave run through the building,

"What was that?" Kaia asked. She was furthest from the door and currently hiding behind Jack. There was nowhere else to hide in the room, it was an open space and there were only some abandoned chairs,

"They're trying to break through" I said, "The warding will hold but not forever"

"Have you tried flying out?"

"Gee Dean, that sounds like a great idea. Too bad they keep blasting Jack with angel radio when he tries and I'm injured"

"Injured? How?"

"We can talk about this later, we need help!"

"Ok" Dean said calmly through the phone, "In the bag you took, is there a large jar?" I looked through the bag I'd stolen from the back of Dean's car. It had angel blades in it so I guessed it was the angel hunting gear. I did see a jar,

"Yes" I said,

"In the jar is holy oil, when lit, angels can't touch the flames"

"Like a salt circle for angels"

"Yes. It should hold them at bay until we get there but be careful. We don't know if it will affect you too" I nodded,

"Ok"

"Now, how many angels are there?"

"I don't know, like six?"

"Ok. Sit tight, we'll be there soon" I got off the phone and poured the oil in a line in front of the door. I didn't light it yet. I used the rest of the spray cans to ward the room. I looked to Jack,

"We're gonna need a backup plan if they get through that door" I looked to the both of them, "I'm sorry Kaia. We didn't mean to drag you into this" Another thud shook up the building we were in. I looked down now. This was my fault, "I just wanted to see my mother again"

"So what do we do now?" Jack asked, "If they get through, they'll kill you both and take me"

"No" Kaia said, "You said I could help you find a door to another world right?"

"Yes"

"Then let's do it. Let's get out of here" Jack looked to me and I nodded,

"Ok. Do it" Jack grabbed a chair and had Kaia sit down. Each shock from the angels shook the entire building and all of us practically wobbled on our feet,

"You ready?" Kaia's face went stone cold as she looked ahead of her,

"No" She said. She took a breath, "Let's go" She closed her eyes and Jack took his position behind her, putting his hands on her head. I got down in front of her. Jack's eyes glowed and the glow moved down his hands and spread out like spiderwebs across Kaia's face. She kept her eyes close and her breathing picked up, "I'm there. I'm in the bad place" I looked to Jack. I couldn't see what was going on, I didn't know,

"Let go" He said,

"I can't" She was going into a panic. I put a hand on her shoulder,

"You can" I encouraged. Yes, I wanted to get to my mother but I also wanted to help her, to show her she doesn't always have to go to the bad place, "Trust us. Trust Jack" After some time, Jack started moving his head like he was searching the room,

"There" He said. He'd found the place but I noticed after more rumbling that the warding inside the room was glowing. They'd already made it through all the other seals. I didn't realise they were breaking through so quickly. I can't do anything though. If they thought we were doing something to help our escape, they'd hit us with angel radio. I might have gotten good at blocking it but Jack doesn't know how to use it. He needs to be able to keep his focus. "I can see her" I looked back, standing up now,

"My mother" There was quiet and yet more rumbling. The warding was failing fast and I saw more concentration hit Jack's face,

"No" Jack muttered, "Focus"

"Ah, I'm losing it" I got back to Kaia's level,

"Keep your eye on it" I said, "Just relax"

"Almost" The warding was almost gone now and I got up, heading to the door with lit a match, ready to stop them as soon as the warding fails. Kaia let out a scream and I turned around to be blinded by light.

I woke up on the floor, inside an old building. I looked up and my mother was there, trapped in a small cage.
