(A/N: italics are Filipino but Idk Filipino so I used italics)
To be a Hargreeves was painful in many ways, but being a Hargreeves out of time, well that just was the cherry on top. Or at least in Five Hargreeves very humble opinion — not that he's a very humble man!
His life was now a blaze of death, guns and blood. Take a life to keep his own, over and over again. Five had ripped apart families, possibly ruined time in order to keep his life and follow the rules. It was sick and twisted, but he had signed on for a five-year contract.
A few months had passed since the making of his contract. Exactly seven months and he was given a task to kill a Filipino family who lived peacefully and quietly. However, the Handler had been very sure to tell him not to kill the child, Olivia he believed her name was, a bizarre coincidence.
Never did the Handler come on such journeys, but today she had. There were two tasks, but the Ramos family she had been very particular on.
He couldn't tell what the Ramos family had done that was wrong to the timeline. Their lives were not particularly interesting and did just as everyone else did . . . they went to work, came home, looked after their daughter . . . they did everything a family was supposed to do. Everything his family didn't. Sometimes he would wonder if they went looking for him, if his siblings ever waited up in hopes of his return.
Angelica and Gerald Ramos were ordinary people that became a victim to the Handler's greed. Her desire and attraction to power brought pain to a four-year-old girl.
Olivia was a small child — it was hard to believe she was four, with a small frame and fragile looking build. It seemed as though simply poking her would shatter her into millions of pieces. Olivia was the kind of child that ignored the danger and wandered around like she was invincible — maybe she was invincible.
Despite Olivia's ignorance of danger, the Ramos were a paranoid family. Each day they lived in fear that someone would take away their miracle child, their child who could do magical things.
Angelica and Gerald were right to worry about their daughter. They were right to fear the world around them, the people they met and the faces they passed by.
"My little doll, are you ready to come and eat dinner?" Gerald called out, placing down the plates of food that he and his wife had been making. It wasn't often the whole family could have a full meal, but he would always make sure his child and wife were fully fed before he'd touch the food.
He stood behind his wife as she began poured water into the jug. Gerald wrapped his arms around Angelica, placing kisses on the back of her neck. Angelica giggled, turning the tap off and turning around in his arms.
She pecked his lips as Olivia popped her head out from under the table, the table cloth awkward placed over her shoulders and gripped in front of her neck.
"No, mummy, daddy, that's gross."
"One day, my little doll, you'll love someone and do gross things."
"No." Olivia giggled, crawling out from under the table.
Gerald crouched down to his daughter, smiling as she stood up, grasping his shoulders and placing a kiss on his nose.
He picked her up, twirling her around, causing childish high pitch giggles to erupt from her mouth.
Angelica picked up the camera, taking a blurry photo of the father and daughter. They documented everything, scared that one day Olivia was going to slip through their grips. One day, they feared, the world would be set on fire and only their little girl would be left fractured and broken.
