Two Months Later

Jake and Bailey fell just inside her doorway in a tangle of limbs. Jake kicked the door closed then peeled off his suit jacket. She was already working on his shirt buttons when she said, "Which one of us was the stupid one who suggested we wait the full two months before falling into bed again?"

"Me, I was trying to be a gentleman."

He kissed her. His mouth was urgent, hungry devouring any moan she offered him while his hands lifted the skirt of her dress up to her middle. She moaned for him. He worked on her panties next. She helped by lifting her hips so he could toss them over his shoulder.

"Fast or slow?" he asked.

"Fastest. Light-speed."

Later, they'd go painstakingly slow, but it had been two months since they had gone all in on friendship first. Most of their dates included Jayden who was happy to talk both of their ears off. Occasionally attraction would get the best of them and they'd kiss and grope after his son had fallen asleep. When things got too heated, he'd stop them like the hopeful, in love, dumbass he was.

But tonight had been two months to the date. Jayden had gone to the sitter. Shayne's had been physical torture. He would have died if she hadn't invited him in for coffee then jumped him after unlocking the door.

Speed of light was probably all he could have offered her anyway. Because he knew that, he used her own arousal to circle her clit with his thumb. He hadn't forgot a single thing that made her get off. Within minutes he was swallowing her screams and replacing his fingers with his sheathed cock. Before he could regret they weren't skin to skin, in a bed or a million things he'd imagined they'd do, they were both coming.

He rested his forehead on hers, both of them breathless. She laughed then placed a kiss on his lips. "I saw light," she said.

He joined her in the laugh. "My vision went black for a moment."

He rolled over onto his back but brought her with him. She crooked her face in his neck. "Jake?"

"Yeah?"

She lifted then kissed the corner of his mouth. He met her gaze. She smiled. "I want to be more than friends. Especially because my BFF is coming back from Ghana, finally, you know..."

His heart filled. "Good to hear, because I love you."

Her mouth parted. "Oh."

"And since it's six months, I am very sure I want you in my life." He waited, watched her face and his heart refused to slow its beat.

The shock on her face transformed into a smile. "Good, because I love you and Jayden. And Kamille's the better friend anyway. She's never felt me up in the school's hallway."

He swallowed but it was easy to say the next. "I see. Since I'm only a semi-good friend, how about you be my family?"

Her breath caught and she melted into him. "Are you sure? Because you've met my brothers. They'll be less hostile and way more annoying. Believe me, you want the former."

He reached for her hand, entangling their fingers. "I want it all with you. I want everything."

She bent her head and kissed the tats along his knuckles. Finally, she rested her cheek on their hands. "I want the same, Jake. I want it all with you."

His heart felt so full because once again, he had a family.
