Newt

To say i was beyond shock was an understatement, Alby had been too and Gally- well he was a different story. Not only had he been shocked he had been angry and hurt that one of his closest friends would betray him, since Peter came up in the box him and Gally were always together. Minho was slightly hurt Harlow wouldn't see him but right now she was in shock and couldn't be around anyone, i had gone back to check on her a couple minutes later and she had been sleeping in the same position she was when i left.

Alby wanted to call a meeting but i convinced him not to rush things, we had to get Harlow's story and have her make the decision. I don't know what she's going through but after being abused by a boy, and not wanting to be around boys in an all boys maze probably freaked her out.

I know if i was her i'd feel trapped, i'm not sure how long it'll take but i'm willing to help her through every step of the way. I felt slightly responsible even when Alby told me it wasn't my fault, if i hadn't been so busy feeling angry with her i might have noticed it more early.

Harlow

After a talk with Alby through Newt we had decided we were going to hold a meeting, where i would explain everything that happened then i was free to go and Peter would come in and explain everything. I was nervous being in a room with so many people, but if i wanted to get through this i had to show it didn't hurt me.

So that's what i did, i kept my head held high as Alby and Minho led me and Newt who was at my side. I was nervous but it had to be done, i kept reminding myself everything was going to be fine. We walked into homestead and immediately all eyes were on us, it made my skin crawl feeling the hard stares.

Alby turned to me and i nodded ready to begin, "Today we're here to discuss the Punishment for Peter the Builder" Alby sighed looking around. "But first before making your decision you should hear what Harlow has to say" he gave a sad smile to Harlow before stepping back. Harlow took a deep breath before walking to where Alby was once standing, now being in front of everyone i felt at a loss for words.

"I uh-" i felt my hands getting moist from sweat, my eyes frantically scanned the room. My chest tightened and i felt the shortness of breath, Newt stept forward taking my hand. It calmed me enough to get my words straight, "as a lot of you know me and Peter were pretty close" my breathing was still heavy.

"Peter was a great guy, but he was also manipulative and obsessive" i paused taking a deep breath irritated with myself for not being able to speak, "he um- he caught me off guard while working and" my voice cracked as i began to recall that memory.

"Well i guess you can imagine what happened" i paused looking up, "some of you were very close with him, all i ask is that you show him mercy" i gave a sad smile as murmurs broke out. "What are you doing" Newt leaned down to whisper, "i know what he did to me Newt, but he's just a boy- a very stupid boy" i sighed.

"He deserves to live long enough to realize his mistake" I turned not being able to handle being in the room anymore, i walked out heading towards the Deadheads to find the stream from before.

I watched her walk out before turning towards Alby, he didn't know what to do we've never had a situation like this before. "Alright the floors open to suggestions" again the guys broke out in chatter, the main ones were banish and starve though there were people who didn't agree at all.

"Okay settle down" Alby turned to Minho nodding towards the door, Minho jumped down heading towards the Pitt. It didn't take long for him to be back with Peter, he had a cut on his lip and a cheek that was starting to bruise but that seemed to be everything visible. He grunted when Minho shoved him on the ground, "Peter, you're here to tell us your side of what happened" Alby paused looking up.

"Tell us the truth and we might lessen your punishment" Alby finished, Peter scoffed standing up. He wobbled a bit but finally steadied himself, "all i'm going to say is why did they send her down if they didn't want us to use her" he said before laughing. Most people disagreed with him but only one or two agreed, mostly builders. Gally stood up walking next to Alby whispering something in his ear, i was standing on his other side a good distance away and didn't hear him.

Alby seemed unsure but Gally whispered something else and that made him agree, "decide what you want to do with him" Alby called before walking out. I turned to Gally, "what is he doing" Gally turned to face me "getting Harlow" i turned to the door just as they walked in.

Alby turned to the gladers, "have you decided?" he asked looking around. Carl stood up "i think we should banish him, he broke the rules" he said before sitting down. "Okay, all for banishment?" the boys raised their hands looking around, Gally turned to Minho and i. "Take him to the pitt, no food for the rest of the day" I nodded turning to Minho who also gave a firm nod, we picked him up walking out of homestead and heading towards the pitt.

For a guy who was practically already dead he seemed calm, we opened the wooden door before throwing Peter in as he landed with a thud. We closed the gate before turning to walk away, "what if he survives the maze?" Minho asked. I shook my head "he won't, no one ever does" he nodded seemingly in thought.
