I watched the snow fall from my window. Something about snow was mesmerizing. I liked how it would float and swirl until eventually, falling to the ground. Music was softly playing in my room. It was a Sunday afternoon and I intended to relax.

        Watching the snow, I began to wonder how Jake and June were going to react when I told them I'm moving. Mom had found a house three days ago. Which meant we're leaving in a month or so. I imagined it going a little something like this;

        ~Avinnes daydream~

"I'm moving." I would say as we all sat around hanging out.

"What? Really?" June would ask even though she already knew the answer.

Jake would stand up and protest for a while before asking, "Where??"

"Powell." I would tell him, growing sadder.

"That's two hours away!" Jake would state.

I would sigh and June would almost be crying. I would notice and hug her and almost begin to cry.

I blinked, coming out of my daydream. I rested my head on the window seal, sighing. Telling them was going to be tough but it needed to be done sooner than later. I went further into a trance, watching the snowflakes dance to the ground.

My breath was fogging up the bottom of the window, I drew a frown-y face in it.

The door bell rang and there was a knock at the door. I pulled myself out of my head and slipped off my bed and headed down the stairs. I opened the door to see Jake. I was a little surprised, he usually tells me he's coming over.

I ushered him inside. He shook some of the snow off of him before smiling and saying,

        "Merry Christmas Eve!"

I rolled my eyes, "Dork, come in."

He took his shoes and coat off before following me up the stairs. We went into the bounus room and sat on the couches.

"I brought you this." He handed me a small box.

"Christmas is tomorrow." I stated taking the box from him.

"I know but I couldn't wait to give this to you." Jake shyly shrugged.

I rolled my eyes and proceeded to open the box, curiosity took over. What ever the gift was, was wrapped up in red tissue paper. I pealed it away.

        I gasped, "Jake."

I pulled out a round locket with an antique looking design on it. I opened it. I smiled when I saw two pictures, one on the left with Jake and I. I was laughing and Jakes arm was around me while he was smiling and looking in the distance. The picture on the right was of Jake, June and I. We all had our arms around each other, smiling wide.

"Your mom is friends with my mom, so ya know they talk and stuff. Well my mom told me the other day you're moving and I thought I'd give you this to remember us by." Jake scratched the back of his neck.

"I was going to tell you guys this week. I'm sorry. But thank you so much for this. It's wonderful." I smiled examining it some more.

"I'm glad you like it. I was afraid it was too corny." He laughed a bit.

"Help me put it on?" I asked.

He nodded and held his hands out, asking for the necklace. I handed it to him and turned around, pulling my hair out of the way. He carefully put it on, struggling with the clasp.

        "There." He patted my back.

"Thanks." I smiled, turning back towards him.

There was a pause for a while.

"Well why don't we invite June over and tell her so she isn't out of the loop." I suggested.

        "Yeah."

To June:
Wanna come over? We'll order a pizza and party :)

From June:
You had me at pizza ;) I'll be over in 5

I ordered the pizza in advance so it got here only a few minutes behind June. The doorbell rang multiple times. I ran to the door, mainly to get her to stop. I opened the door and invited her in. I immediately noticed today was her lazy day. Her hair was in a top knot, her face was makeup-less and she wore running shorts and a t-shirt.

"The pizza should be here in a few. Come upstairs."

We walked up the stairs. In the bonus room Jake was watching some weird crime show. We sat on the couches. I knew it would be better to tell June about me moving. Sooner than later.

"Okay June. I've got some news." I said.

        Jake turned down the TV.

"Oh god. You're not pregnant are you?" June jumped to a conclusion.

"No! Are you crazy?" I laughed.

"Phew." She laughed too, "What's up?"

"I-well my mom just kinda made this decision without my consent, but I'm moving." I fiddled with my fingers.

June sat starring at the floor, motionless.

        "Where?" She asked.

        "Powell." I told her.

She let out her breath, "I thought you were moving out of state and I'd never see you again. Two hours isn't that bad, right? We can make it work."

June was always a glass half full kind of person in these situations.

"I'm sorry." I said, for no reason other than to fill the silence.

"It's okay. It's not your fault. When are you moving?"

"When my mom finds a place." I shrugged.

"Well lets party every day until you leave. Okay? We'll give you something to remember." June's voice cracked.

"Don't cry." I pulled her into a hug.

"I didn't want to, but this just sucks you know?" She hugged me back, tight.

Jake joined in and we had a group hug.

"Okay, okay. I'm done crying." June pulled away and wiped her tears.

"Alright. Lets stop being sad and watch a funny movie." Jake suggested.

"Bench Warmers? Oldie but a goody?" I smiled.

"Yeah sure." June was still collecting herself.

"Bench Warmers it is then." Jake put in the movie and we all sat on the couch.

The worst part about having my friends around was thinking about what it'd be like without them. I tried to focus on the movie, not something that'd make me sad.

But man, I was going to miss them.

~*( I'm sorry. I suck. It's short, I know but it's been a while since I've updated. I'm really sorry. Spring break I'm going to write like crazy. I swear. End of term is soon and it's been busy. Once again, sorry. All the love xxH )*~
