Monday rolled around after an awkwardly silent weekend with my mom. I hadn't seen dad but I did text him asking where he went. He never responded. I walked up the schools stairs with music playing in my ear buds.

Suddenly the ear buds were pulled out. I was about to kill someone but then I saw who it was, June. My best girl friend. She laughed and handed me back my ear buds.

"Well hello to you." I smiled.

"Hi. How was your weekend?" She asked.

        "Eventful, yours?"

"Too short. What happened?" June looked at me curiously.

"My dad got kicked out." We entered the school.

The usual smell of old cinnamon made its way into my senses.

"I'm sorry." She sadly sighed, understanding what I was going through.

Her parents split up when she was twelve. That was a while before I knew her.

        "It's alright."

We walked in comfortable silence to our lockers. I stopped at mine and she continued to hers. I quickly set my things in and grabbed my binder, if I was lucky then I would be able to see (and if I'm feeling spontaneous) say hi to my stupid school girl crush, Damon.

I quickly walked over to June. Damon was putting his stuff away while talking to his best friend, Ian. A slight smile played with my lips. I suppressed it and put 79% of my attention on June. The rest of it was on Damon.

"Ladies." Jake greeted walked up, blocking my view of Damon.

        "Gentleman." June giggled back.

She was one of those always bubbly, and giggly people. Jake was more of a serious joker. He cracked jokes but never really laughed at them while the rest of us did. I was just here to laugh, I guess you could say. On rare occasion could I make people laugh. I wondered why my friends even let me stick around.

The bell rang. We all sighed and started towards our classes. I had English first period, while the other two had gym. We walked until we had to split up. I entered my classroom and sat down, hoping today would be an easy day.

At the end of the day I ended up with two homework assignments that shouldn't take me long. I sighed putting my stuff in my locker. School really takes something out of you each day.

        "Hey." l said noticing Jake.

        "How was it?" Jake asked.

"Boring, the usual. What about your class?" I shut my locker.

"Interesting. Did you know everyone has tiny mites living in their eyelashes." Jake stated.

"Gross." I started to walk down the hall with Jake.

We made our way to Jakes locker. June, my best friend walked up. Her brown-almost black hair was up in a bun, bringing out her yellow-ish hazel eyes more.

"Whats up?" She asked pulling her backpack over her shoulder.

        "Nothing much." I shrugged.

I froze when seeing Damon, my crush. His carmel hair was tucked away in a beanie. He was talking to Liam, his best friend. Soon Ian and A.J walked up to join them.
