It has been a month since the breakup, and Drista was completely over it. She had learned how to let people go, and how to be confident with herself.

She had just got dressed for bed, and started brushing her hair. She could hear Dream in his room, on a call with a group of friends. He was being so loud, and kept wheezing. Eventually the laughing and noise died down, and she figured she could finally curl up for the night. It had been a fairly good day, besides a stressful math test.

Drista got in bed, and tried to sleep. However she developed this unsettling feeling in her stomach. She couldn't identify a cause, all she knew was something didn't feel right. After tossing and turning, she went to sleep.

The next morning she woke up, checking the time. "Shit, I'm late!" She gasped and jumped out of bed, running downstairs to the kitchen after throwing on a random outfit. She wasn't entirely sure the clothes were even clean.

While in the kitchen, she heard Sapnap and Dream talking in the living room. Suddenly she knew there must have been a reason she wasn't called up.

"You should tell her." She heard Sapnap say.

"Yeah...I'm going to, just don't want to tell her until we find out more."

"Yeah...so you're keeping her home today?"

"Yes, she won't be able to focus anyway. So, I'll just call them and say she's sick."

"Okay..."

Drista tapped on the wall to make her presence known.

Dream and Sapnap spun around, like they got caught doing something illegal.

"Oh morning Drista-" Dream wasn't ready to see her up.

"Why didn't you make sure I was up for school?"

"Um...there's no school today..." As Dream said that, the bus rolled by.

"Right...Dream, don't lie to me."

He sighed "okay, sit down."

Drista sat down on the couch and crossed her arms. She didn't know what to expect, but she was listening.

"Lani is in the hospital-"

"Why?!" Drista stood up before he finished.

"Sit down-"

"What happened to her?!"

"Calm down, let me speak."

"Is she okay?!"

"She's alive, sit down." Dream pushed her back onto the couch.

"Alive?" Drista started shaking as her chest started to hurt from the sudden stress.

"I was on call with Tubbo, Ranboo, and Tommy when Tubbo found out. He had to go in a hurry and all. So this morning I texted him about it, seeing how everything is..."

"Dream, stop tiptoeing around it..." Sapnap spoke up.

Dream frowned "Lani was hit by a car last night when she was out with her sister. Apparently she was crossing the road, and a drunk driver ran into her instead of stopping."

Drista shook her head in denial and covered her face. "How bad is it?"

"I don't know...Tubbo hasn't given any details, and I haven't been pushing him to."

"I n-need to know!"

"I know, I'll tell you if Tubbo says anything else."

"N-no, I need to know!" Drista ran up to her room and slammed the door. She got her phone and made sure she hadn't been texted about it.
