In the midst of a battle, there are three things that every good fighter does. Protect your allies, kill the enemy and live. Right now, I'm trying to do all three. But sometimes, you don't achieve all three.

Across the camp, small battles raged like wildfire. Each as desperate and dangerous as the next. I was as cool as a cucumber. I grinned at the pure, undulated adrenaline flowing through me. I chose to use Riptide today, as an reminder of the old days. The sword cut through the enemy like butter. I combined Greek, Roman, and even some elfin fighting styles into one deathly dance.

I saw a Titan advancing towards Luke. A few moments later, the Titan went straight back to Tartarus. The army now gave Luke a wide berth, seeing how powerful he is. He ran up to me.

"Chaos just visited." He ducked a pair of claws. "He spoke with Jax for a few minutes and-thanks man," he said referring to the monster I jut killed. "Anyways, It's Jax's time to reclaim what is his." Luke stabbed another monster. "So Jax left and wants me to relay a message."

"Which is?"

He grinned. "Not to finish the Uno game without him."

"That, I can deal with," I laughed and continued to slash monsters.

"I'm gonna go cover the west flank," he said and ran in that direction.

"Where is the sea god's son?"

Kronos' bellow was answered by the army of monsters. They parted like the Red Sea and I was Moses. The Titan ginned sardonically and walked forward. The tip of his scythe scraped the dirt and left a thin trail.

"Well, well. What do we have here? A stubborn demi-god who won't stay dead," Kronos drawled.

"That's true, but I'm also a demi-god who's gonna kick your ass all the way back to Tartarus," I smirked. I heard muffled laughter and a faint "burn" behind me.

He grew angry. "You are nothing but I child, Perseus Jackson!"

"That is Omega to you, Kronos."

A small dose a fear flash in his eyes after recognition visited. He yelled and charged with his scythe held up. Riptide clashed with the weapon and a loud ching echoed off. By the time out weapons met again, the fighting had restarted. Renewed energy burst into the campers and they fought rigorously.

Kronos and I locked eyes. I smiled. Then we fought.

Kronos fought with all his strength and agility. He fought with precision and ferocity. Most of all, he fought like this will be his last battle. And I will do anything to make that true.

I? I only used a part of my strength, agility, precision, and ferocity. Being a skilled fighter that Kronos is, he knew this. Beads of sweat began to collect on his forehead.

I sighed. "I'm getting bored." And I went in for the killing blow. In the matter of seconds, Kronos' head roller onto the grass and turned into golden dust. The monsters faltered at the loss of their leader.

A scream echoed across the field and everyone, even the monsters, watch as I ran towards the scream. When I arrived, I saw people crowding around something- or someone. My heart clenched in pain when I spied Annabeth's shoe poking out of the circle.

"No! Annabeth!" I cried and pushed through the crowd. Instead of seeing her in her pool of blood, I saw her in a pool of her tears. She was holding someone close to her.

"Holy Hades, Caleb, where are you hurt? Get an Apollo's kid! Hurry!" I yelled at a camper.

"Percy," a hand landed on my shoulder. "I already tried. The poison of the blade already worked through his system. It's attacking everything, his bloodstream, bones, and numbing his nervous system. Nothing will work."

I turned around to find Apollo himself staring at me. I released my rage and evaporated every single water molecule in the monsters' bodies, leaving them as ashes. The gods, who are all present, and the campers looked at me nervously, except for Luke, who looked at me with concern. I sat down beside Caleb.

"Hey man, you did awesome today," I said. Caleb smiled weakly.

"You totally kicked monster-"

"I have s-something to tell you." The words were so quietly and weakly spoken that I could barely hear them.

"Yeah?"

"I-in some cultures, w-white roses represent d-death," he coughed and a splatter of blood appeared. I winced and tried to wipe it away. "L-leave it. P-Percy. They a-also say that it's i-inevitable. It was a r-rhetorical question."

I grew frantic. "Is it close? The poem, did it mean now?"

Caleb shrugged weakly." F-fates."

His eyes started to flutter close and his breathing became more shallow. His grip on his sword began to loosen.

"Caleb? Caleb?" I said frantically.

"It's too late, Percy. He has begun his journey to the Underworld," Hades said.

I swallowed the lump in my throat and stood up. "To Caleb Sycamore! Son of Poseidon, Defender of Camp Half-Blood, and my brother!" I thrust my sword up in the air. Everybody followed suit with grim, but fierce expression.

Poseidon stepped forward and placed a hand on Caleb's forehead. Drops of tears fell from his eyes as he murmured a blessing. Caleb's body rippled and turned into water. The water levitated in the air and zipped away to the lake.

"He asked me to do that, just in case," Dad said gruffly. I nodded.

We all looked around the camp to see the carnage and destruction. We had won the war, but at a price.

Ok! Another chappie done! Whew, I think I had a gazillion writer's blocks in this chapter. Well, I hope you guys enjoyed it!
