Desire

Chapter 17

Damian

She is driving me crazy, I had to leave. I can't get the look of her body out of my head, I am so consumed by her and then she took my hand off her face. Clearly she doesn't feel anything towards me like I thought, or maybe it's just been too long for and we can't jump like that.

I sat in a quiet room reading a book to try and ease my mind. As I continue my book further I can't help but think she's gonna try to leave from being upset that I left. So I quickly went back to my room. I found laying in bed asleep with Titus on the floor next to her like old times. She breathed so softly and I knew she was asleep, sleep that was much needed for her. 

I sat in a chair that was sort of outside on the balcony but facing her so I could just watch her. I continued in my book from where I left off. I occasionally glance up to check on her and see she's still in a deep sleep. The sun was starting to set and the golden coloring of the sun fell upon her. 

I walked over to the little side table that was next to be bed. It was a light wood color it had one drawer a lamp, a clock, and a picture of Raven, Titus and I. It was when we were younger and around the time Raven had given him to me so he was smaller than he is now. I open the drawer seeing some papers and other little things I keep in there. Shuffling through the papers I find the one thing I was looking for. The papers to handing over the League of Assassins. It's what I want. I don't want this place if I could shut it down I would but that's not possible. No one who's next in line is not worthy enough.

The Titans com started going off, it woke up Raven because she started to stir out of her sleep. I pick up answering the call.

"Damian we need you and Raven, it's Harvest." Garfield said out of breath. I look over to Raven who has already used her powers to change into her uniform, she was clearly awake now. I quickly put on my uniform not caring that she's in the room. She opens a portal and we're met with chaos.

People are running out of the way and look up to see this somewhat large creature looking thing standing there with someone in his hands. 

"I thought you said he was only after metahumans." I spoke to Raven.

"He must be one just in hiding," She told me she reached her arms up to which her powers created large black versions of her fists with purple auras. She hits the creature causing him to drop the person, Starfire flies by collecting him and taking him to a safer place. The creature turns to Raven.

"Ah, little girl, you came back for more." He spoke down to her. I scrunch my face in anger and disgust. He charges towards us and Raven takes one of her force fields forming it to protects us, she then uses some power pulling her arms back to push him back with that forcefield. He stubbles back some but he pulls out some odd looking gadget, probably that futuristic one she was talking about.

Starfire flies by hitting him with some start bolts, it stops him but doesn't look like it hurts him. His suit must protect him somehow. Beast Boy turns into a T-rex and runs at Harvest, but Harvest stops him by knocking him down. 

The civilians are all gone by now some people laid in the road possibly dead meaning they were metahumans. I look around at my team going down or becoming too tired. Raven was not. She's strong and the way he talked to her powered more to have the will to fight. While she had him distracted I went for him quietly but that didn't stop him from losing focus on Raven and placing it onto me.

He turns around and lifts his hands, I don't understand what he was doing, but a sudden scream came from behind him. 

"Damian!" was last words I heard from her as my vision went blurry.
