𝑫𝑬𝑨𝑫𝑳𝑰𝑵𝑬𝑺 𝑨𝑵𝑫 𝑺𝑷𝑰𝑳𝑳𝑺She has to reach the office before 8:00am if she wanted to keep her position at cosmos. What had she been thinking giving orders without supervising the project? Now see what had happened.
The tires made a dramatic whoosh as she parked the car in the lot. Hastily removing the key, her legs bounced hurriedly into the office. It wasn't that she had not heard the Gardner and the Gate Man's greetings but her mind was In chaos. She had sent Sam an email to meet by 8:00am sharp. Because She had told Mahmoud to come see the samples by Ten. Only God knows how she would pull that off.
"Good morning Sam." Thankfully he was early today. If it will result to her printing those samples herself, then she was prepared to do it. But she had been saved the stress when she spotted him at the coffee stand.
"We need to talk now." She gestured towards the Printing press. Her voice a bit louder than usual compelling him to drop the milk container he was holding.
They spent an hour and a half before they were able to start the printing. Apparently the detail she had sent had been mistaken for another client which was supposed to be due in the next three weeks. To add to her misery, the email she had sent was nowhere to be found. After searching for almost 10 minutes, her eyes finally spotted the email. She had almost given up hope. It was now 9:26 her watch read as she made for her office.
With Aafiya as a new addition, the spacious floor had come in handy for her as she spread the lush blanket on the Turkish rug. Aafiya could take the chaise she concluded. More pillows were needed so she called on the maid to get more for her from the linen closet but no one answered. Deciding her sleep was better than the pillow, she rested her head on the carpet even though her head would have appreciated the soft comfort. Safwan had come storming into the room to meet his wife's icy eyes and Halima's mischievous ones. No words were uttered as he dragged his wife not so gently out of the room ignoring her protests.
"Leave me Safwan let me teach this useless thing a lesson." He knew she meant trouble when she had asked him of the phone she saw him with the previous day. But he had brushed it aside seeing that the house was full. Maybe he had gone overboard by buying Halima the exact phone his wife had been wanting to have. But he had felt so bad after seeing the state of her phone that he had immediately asked his friend to get him a new phone the following morning and the only name that popped in his mind was when he asked the brand name was the name of the phone Raudah had been singing in his ears for the past week.
"Language Raudah. Halima is my sister and she is not useless." She snickered,
"Your Sister indeed. When are you going to snap out of this illusion Safwan." Trying to jerk free from his grip. "Do you take me for a fool. Nifa ba yarinya bace. " He had not replied but had simply led them through the kitchen wing were he hoped nobody will notice them since people had already started coming into the house.
It was obvious Raudah had wanted to cause a scene seeing the way she was raising her voice as Safwan dragged her out of the room. Thankfully, no one had come in during the exchange and even after they left, it took almost an hour before her roommates came back.
They found her sprawled on the blnketed floor. She used another blanket to cover her body. She heard their ruffles as they went about their routines before finally sleeping. Her eyes flipped open when she felt the blanket open and someone slipped in close to her. The duvet was large, very large that two more people could fit it comfortably. She felt the person's hand carefully unfold the duvet and dragged it over herself she smiled as the hand wrapped around her waist. That one gesture broke her resolve. Letting go of all the walls she had build around the day's happening, she allowed the tears to flow from her eyes. Aafiya her angel in human form. She did not remember falling asleep but had woken up to her phone buzzing loudly prompting her to jump up startling the sleeping Aafiya. She had hurriedly went about showering, dressing and eating breakfast then headed straight to the office.
