Y/N PERSPECTIVE
The sun had just dipped below the tree line of the Forbidden Forest, and the cloudless sky was a milky gray.
Nightfall was coming, and all I could do was pace my chambers.
The choice in front of me wasn't easy: brave the Slytherin common room and risk angering my best friend in the name of learning the truth, or play it safe but spend the rest of the term regretting it.
"Bollocks," I whispered to myself.
"What's the matter?" chirped Azalea from under her duvet. I couldn't stand to be back in Hufflepuff tonight, so Azalea Coil was letting me sleep in her dormitory in Ravenclaw. The lumos charm that was illuminating the pages of her book went out and I saw her sharp eyes pop up at me.
Lucky me that Elaine wasn't around to see me take off and question me later for it. I'd bet 50 galleons she was off with some new boy, and wouldn't come back to Hufflepuff tonight either. Typical Elaine, always one for the thrill of a new lover.
"Um, nothing. I feel a bit ill," I said quickly, and clutched my stomach for effect. Azalea cooed with sympathy.
"Go see Madame Pomfrey. I'm sure it's just nerves, after the day you've had."
"Right... right, I will," I replied. Alright. This is it.
I wrapped myself in robes and left the room, padding quietly down the stairs and into the hall outside the common room. The castle was dark and mostly empty, with long shadows growing on the stone floor as the torches on the walls grew alive with fire.
Creeping through darkened passages and slinking in the shadows, I made my way towards Slytherin.
There was no time to tell Cedric I wouldn't be meeting him in the courtyard. And anyway, he'd probably do anything he could to prevent me from going if he knew what I was up to.
This was for the good of both of us, I told myself.

CEDRIC'S PERSPECTIVE
I couldn't say my feelings weren't hurt, but being stood up by Y/N definitely didn't feel good.
Night had fallen, and I had been waiting diligently in the courtyard as we planned.
I could see my breath in the night air, and I pulled my yellow Hufflepuff jumper tighter around me to keep out the cold as I shifted from foot to foot.
At last, I resigned myself to the fact that she wasn't coming.
As I made my way slowly back towards the castle, my worries started to grow worse and worse. There's no way she would have just blown me off without saying anything, and I knew she was desperate to learn the truth.
What lengths would she go to to get answers?
What if Y/N was in trouble?
I broke into a run.

Y/N PERSPECTIVE
"Who is it?" a gruff voice demanded from inside the Slytherin common room.
Bloody hell. I didn't expect an audience. This could get me in some serious trouble.
"It's... um, I'm..." I hesitated.
"Move it, you big oaf, Y/N's with me." Bishop Crooks shouldered his way past the boy at the door and offered me a wry smile.
"Come to the dark side, eh, Y/N?" he quipped. Before I had a chance to respond, he grabbed a corner of my robe and dragged me inside, shutting the heavy door behind him. Couldn't risk being seen, I suppose, but no need to be so harsh about it.
The dusty smell of leather and the smoke from a dwindling fire in the hearth were almost comforting as I entered the common room. Plush, carved green chairs dotted a thick Persian rug and surround a low coffee table.
I moved to perch on the edge of an emerald couch, but Crooks once again tugged me towards the stairs.
Snatching my arm away, I hissed, "what are doing? Just tell me what I came for and I'll be on my way."
Crooks shook his head and tsked patronizingly. "Can't risk being heard conspiring with a Hufflepuff, now can I?" he asked with a tilt on his chin.
"We're not exactly conspiring, now are we?" I shot back, crossing my arms.
"Just come along, you stubborn witch," he spat, and once again pulled me along down a dark stone hall towards the chambers.
This did not feel right.
Bishop pushed open a heavy oak door and gestured for me to enter. The light was too dim for me to fully make out what was inside. I turned to face him as he shut the door behind us.
"Bishop please, just tell me who-"
My voice was cut off by Bishop forcefully kissing me.
I grunted in surprise and tried to twist away, but suddenly I found myself backed against the cold stone wall with my arms held out to my sides.
"Crooks, bloody hell!" I yelled, struggling under his grasp.
I felt a hand close firmly around my throat. It didn't hurt, but it was enough to shut me up.
"Don't act like you don't like it, Y/N." I could hear a grin at the edge of his voice. "We've all been hearing how easy you are."
Crooks forcefully kissed me again as I thrashed against the wall.
