Jaido seems very guarded. I know Zayne can be abusive, especially when he's emotional. He's a very emotion driven man. I'm not much better, but when you've been abused your whole life, it's understandable. My dad was abusive towards me, beating me everyday and most nights. It's all I know. Jaido and I walked up to Greg's Chevy Suburban. Greg, Nitro and Hal were already waiting outside, leaning against the SUV.

"This is the great and mighty Jaido." Halender said.

"I am." Jaido said.

Jaido appears to be socially awkward too, especially with new people. We're the people he's spent the last eight years hating.

"Cool. I've been dying to meet you." Halender said.

Halender is genuine but Jaido doesn't seem to believe it  yet.

"Hello, Bolt." Nitro said.

"Hola, Sparky." Greg said.

"Uh, my name is Jaido. Not 'Bolt' or 'Sparky.'" JJ said.

"We know. It's our nicknames for you. Just like how Boss calls you 'JJ.'" Nitro explained.

"I'mma call you Jai-Jai." Halender said.

Jaido glared daggers at him.

"No, absolutely not. It's either 'Jaido' or 'Jai.'" JJ said.

"Nope. We're calling you by the nicknames we just gave you." Greg said.

JJ sighed heavily. Alrighty then. Guess JJ's gotta get used to those names now. 'Bolt' and 'Sparky' as well as 'JJ' aren't bad, but 'Jai-Jai' come on now. He's not a little kid. I can tell JJ wasn't too keen on the nicknames.

"No. My name's Jai or Jaido. And that goes for you too, asshole." JJ said, pointing his finger at me.

"Whatever you say, JJ." I said.

He glared at me. He really thinks he can scare me off? If only he knew what he meant to me. I watched him climb into his truck.

Glancing over at my crew, I saw them watching him too.

"He'll be alright?" Halender asked.

"Please, Hal... He's Jaido Jaygo, he'll be just fine." I said.

We scrambled into the Suburban and I put the SUV in reverse, following Jaido's truck. I knew this was hard on him. Zayne had filled me in on Jaido's so called 'short comings.' He seemed to have a lot of issues with JJ but that's GPS's fault for putting them together. GPS stands for 'Gang Protection Services.' They protect members from rank less all the way up to the gang leader. When a Guardian and a gang leader get put together, they're supposed to do tests to make sure they're compatible. Obviously, that didn't happen with Jaido and Zayne. Zayne's not a good man anyway. I mean, I'm by no means perfect but I, at the very least, recognize my flaws. Zayne refuses to.

About an hour later we arrived at our gang house. Halender was very impressed that Jai's truck had arrived there as well with no help from us. We, including JJ, got out of our vehicles and made our way to the front door. I walked inside first and got a glimpse of JJ's dry look on his face.

"What?" I asked.

"You trying to die?" JJ asked.

"No." I said.

"I have the bulletproof vest on. You do not. Therefor I go first. Idiot." JJ mumbled.

I chuckled at him. He's definitely quite a character. And he will take some time to warm up to us. But I feel like it can be done.

JJ? Watch out.

Your new life awaits you.
