"Are you really going to wear that?" Era whispers, staring at her phone. "Is this another one of your ways to get me to jump off a cliff?"

And it's just Namjoon's picture on her screen, from behind the scenes of the Butter shoot.

She wants to thank Arin for sending her a picture but she thinks if she should thank her for blessing her eyes or for finally letting her die in peace. Overdramatic? Yeah, it's Namjoon. She can't help it.

The evening arrives in the blink of an eye and Namjoon is on her doorstep with subway sandwiches in one hand and Starbucks in the other. "You are high maintenance, did anyone tell you that?"

Era takes the sandwiches from him, letting him inside. "Nope, and I just thought it would be good to have an aesthetic Instagram feed." She places them on the table and turns around, placing a hand on her waist, huffing. "Not everyone goes to museums to get the aesthetic, okay?"

Namjoon nods, chuckling as if he's a kid getting scolded.

"Cheap aesthetic 101, place coffee beside your book and you're good to go." Era says, taking her cup of coffee on it.

"Arin's home?" Namjoon asks, stepping closer to her. Era shakes her head, "Dorm. She's helping Jin with some song she said, no idea if she even has a talent for songwriting. God that girl."

The past two months, since Namjoon's gone back to his idol life, Era has been there for him with every step.

The book and AirPods were thrown away, weeks ago.

"It makes me feel distant to you," Namjoon had said. "Like someone is forcing them to hear the truth about what you think."

"Let's throw them away," Era had said and Namjoon had pulled her into a kiss.

They want to create that bond without those in between.

"Let me know what you think, what you love, the airpods don't need to do that. " She had told him.

"What were you up to?" Namjoon says, stepping so close that if Era just leans back, she'll melt in his chest.

"Cursing you," Era sticks out her tongue and Namjoon wonders if Era is really the same person he had seen all those days back when he had first met her. She is more like Arin than Arin is nowadays.

"That's not what Arin told me though," he teases, laughing when Era pouts at him. "She said you liked it so much that you forgot to reply to her."

"What? Do you want me to send her a thank you for sending a blurry picture of you when I am trying to get some work done?" Era scoffs. "Your company provides me HD pictures for free, Arin takes half her pocket money extra to click a blur picture, how's that fair?"

She is so cute, Namjoon thinks he would love to stuff her in his pocket. "So unfair, give her a quarter."

"It's a quarter, another quarter is her bribe—"

Namjoon raises his eyebrows in question.

Era's voice falters. "To not tell you...but she did anyway."

Namjoon nods, chuckling. "Try bribing her with our merch sometime, works better." And he winks before stepping back. She almost whines at the loss of the warmth but Namjoon casually sits on a chair and spreads his legs.

Stop, that's illegal.

"Shall we go out on a date?"

That's it, Era has stopped breathing.

"A date?"

Namjoon nods, suddenly feeling awkward. "Yes, umm, there's a new library opened nearby. If you want to look, you know."

It's silent. Namjoon swears if Era doesn't speak anything the next moment he would melt to the floor.

And when Era smiles, he knows it is a yes.

.

A library date is fun.

They continue on talking, completely disregarding the main reason they had even come to the library in the first place, much to Namjoon's own surprise.

Era tells Namjoon about the events she has to organise, having rejected to get a wedding done of a big shot celebrity which would be the reason why she has been scrambling for new projects.

"Maybe if people understood that I am not a wedding planner and every event organiser works differently then people would be saved from shitshows." Era pouted, just finishing a rant regarding people always calling her for organising their weddings.

Namjoon breaks out in laughter and Era giggles along.

"Excuse me?" Both of them turn at the same time to look at the woman standing in front of them. Seemingly annoyed she says, "I need you to keep your voice down or I'm going to have to ask you both to leave."

Namjoon apologizes and the librarian halts, mumbling something inaudible underneath her breath. Her eyes glint with recognition, she almost gaps but then shakes her head in disappointment.

He takes a mental note to not come to this library again.

They exchange books, read summaries but always get lost in making jokes about it. Era is a little silly and a neat freak, Namjoon thinks, because she starts placing books according to their cover's colour, disregarding the genre.

She goes as far as tip-toeing to place the books on the top shelf and huffs when she can't reach. "Come on, be the main character of my life and help me keep this up, then..."

Namjoon chuckles, stepping forward as she places the book on the shelf and then looks down. "Then..."

"Kiss me?" she whispers and before Namjoon can even process the words, Era tiptoes to peck him on the lips. "Am I the main character of your life now?"

Era chuckles, shaking her head. Namjoon smiles, closing his eyes again when he's pulled down and cups her face to kiss her back. He backs away, leaning her forehead against hers, "Is that a yes?"

"Depends on what you are asking for this time," Era whispers.

With a smile, Namjoon leans back to kiss her. It's a yes to them. To us.

And perhaps this is destiny.

He may not believe in soulmates, but that doesn't mean he doesn't believe in destiny. He may not believe in soulmates but he believes in love.

He wishes that this feeling never fades away, the rustle of bedsheets, the sheepish giggles, the fire in his heart and the love in her eyes. It all takes time, and he wishes to let destiny take its time with them.

Era knows that on a day where she thinks too much, he would know it. He would call her saying, You think too much, love, and even though he isn't a singer, he would sing her to sleep.

Because she had never thought of her soulmate before. Never sat with a coffee with a book on her balcony, thinking of who was tied to her by fate?

But now, she might not think of someone else in his place.

Because she feels destiny in him.

And he feels destiny in her.
