YEARS LATER.

"... and thank you so much, Nami for allowing me to be your newest ambassador. Domestic violence and mental health are two very important topics that I hold near to my heart, something I'm dedicated to understanding and pursuing. I watched my mother struggle with both when I was younger then years later I started fight through it myself. So to stand here and be able to share my story with you all is an honor and a huge blessing."

"Of course, Lauren. Marissa and myself both appreciate you so much for coming out today and accepting our offer as a brand ambassador for the Free At Last foundation. Thank you for being so transparent and sharing your story to inspire other women like yourself who have been through domestic violence and suffering from the mental health issues that came with it. You've touched so many hearts today and to show you how thankful we are," Looking past Lauren, Nami called for one of the foundation members to come up to the stage,"we have some gifts for you."

"Aww you guys didn't have to get me anything." Karlae laughed it off while watching her gifts be brought up to the stage. After giving the invite some deep thought, Karlae had finally agreed to coming out to speak to domestic violence survivors and victims at the Free At Last foundation panel here in LA. She was unsure of it at first, only because she wasn't sure if she was really ready to share her story with the world just yet.

She's been in the spotlight for years, but sharing something so sensitive and traumatic with the public wasn't something she had ever planned on doing. But after a long talk with her loving husband, she had finally realized that maybe sharing her story would do more good than bad. In a way, she was able to use this as a healing method – talking about it, and inspiring other women like herself.

Her ultimate goal here was to show that women like herself go through these things too. Being such a huge public figure can create the narrative that you're perfect and nothing bad ever happens in your life, but Karlae was here to prove that this isn't only happening to women who are considered to be "regular" — she wanted to show that she's a regular LA girl too who has endured some hardships one could never imagine.

"No, no, we felt that it was necessary. We got you a ton of goodies to enjoy that I'm confident you'd love. Go ahead, open everything up."

"Okay!" Karlae shrugged her shoulders in an excitement, ecstatic to see what they got her. Like Nami said, she had a large gift box full of goodies that Karlae did love. They definitely knew what they were doing picking out gifts for her, because everything they got - she was already super intrigued in.

Palo Santo and sage, essential oils, candles, gold plated jewelry of course, spirituality book Psychic Empath written by Kimberly Moon, and a warm comfy thermal blanket - perfect for winter that's vastly approaching.

"Oh and I love this blanket!" She grinned widely, hugging her new blanket close to her chest,"I can't wait to cuddle up in this. Thank you ladies so much for everything, this was really sweet of y'all."

"Yea we were thinking of ways to show our appreciation and this was the best we could come up with. I'm so glad you're satisfied with everything."

"Of course, yea, everything's perfect. Today was perfect. I'm so grateful for everything y'all, I really can't thank you enough." Karlae assured them while folding her blanket back up to place back inside of her gift box. It was exhilarating, being able to show her appreciation and to be shown it right back. She felt even stronger after sharing her story and listening to the ladies in the audience share theirs.
