(I know I said this chapter will start with the movie plot, but I changed my mind lol. This chapter will mostly be in a flashback, but down worry you'll see Arne in it ;) )
If you would've told me a few months ago that the paranormal exists and possession and demons were real, I would've just laughed it off and not believe you.
My whole life my parents have told me about the monsters under your bed, and to watch out for the boogeyman. But, those are just things parents say to scare their children to corporate. Especially when you get to the age where you realize stuff like that aren't real.
Now don't get me wrong, I've always been interested in ghosts and spirits. I've never actually believed they were real, but I'd like to think that the spirits of my grandparents are watching over me. Or that they could be in the same room as me, watching my family and I live life and knowing that we are doing well without them and not grieving.
But I used to draw the line with demons, or any evil being. I feel like most people are like that, or I'd like to think they are.
When my family and I first heard of Ed and Lorraine Warren, we didn't know what to believe. I feel like we were all conflicted on what to think, especially when they would come with evidence from their cases.
We've heard and watched all their interviews for all their cases. From their case with that Annabelle doll, to the Amityville house, and their most recent one the Enfield case in London.
My dad said it was a load of bullshit. My mom of course felt bad for the people involved, but I knew she didn't believe one ounce of it. My older sister, Debbie, didn't even bother to care, and my little brother David, is just too young for that stuff.
My parents made sure to change the channel on the TV when David was around, whenever anything involving Ed and Lorraine Warren came up. A little kid shouldn't be worrying about being possessed at such a young age, especially David.
How wrong I was.
I didn't know what to think, when David first starting acting strange. Not to be rude or anything, but David has always kind of been on the weird side, but I admired it. He was just acting like a kid.
But then, he started sleep walking and would just watch us sleep. He would get random fevers all of a sudden, and David rarely gets sick.
I was the first one to notice something more odd and different was happening to David. Because I was the first one to experience his first "episode" if you will.
My family was gone, and I was stuck home babysitting David. We were having a good time, watching a movie, eating junk food, when I heard something upstairs.
(flashback)
"Hey don't eat all that bubblegum, you're gonna get sick and I don't want to hear mom and dad lecture me all night." I said.
"But it's so good! Mom and dad would never let me eat this much if they were here." David whined, stuffing more into his mouth.
"That's because they know how you get when you eat too much candy. You get a sugar high and then you get sick after like 10 minutes." I said, taking the bubble gum away.
"Hey give it back!" He said, getting up trying to take it back.
"Nope! You'll thank me later when you're not up all night with a stomachache." I said, eating the last bit of gum.
"I hate you." He said, sitting on the couch, crossing his arms and pouting.
"You love me." I grinned, innocently.
