"Whose almost here?" I asked, standing up.
"The Warren's." Arne said, walking back into the kitchen. I walked into the bathroom, feeling a little nauseous, and stood in front of mirror.
I didn't even look like myself. My eyes didn't hold any more light or twinkle in them anymore. You could see the dark bags under my eyes showing, from the lack of sleep I kept on getting, trying to take care of David.
The thought of the same people our family used to make fun of before, because we didn't believe what they did for a living, coming to our house to help someone in our family is crazy.
When my parents told us that they were calling in Ed and Lorraine Warren, the same people they used to say what they did was bullshit, to help us with David —— I knew whatever was happening was serious.
I mean I should know, I was the person who first told them that I think something more sinister and paranormal is going on with David.
But I didn't actually think they would believe me, or let alone call in the Warren's. The day my parents started believing in the paranormal is when I knew this was going in a dark path.
I was brought out my thoughts when the doorbell rang. I took a glance in the mirror, splashing some water on my face to cool myself down.
I took one last look in the mirror before heading back out. I walked to the front door to see Ed and Lorraine, greeting my parents. They held so much confidence walking in, like they knew what they were doing before they even started
They went on to greet Arne and Debbie before turning to me, and everybody else noticing my appearance as well.
"You must be Eden, correct?" Lorraine asked, her voice very calm and gentle for a situation like this.
"Yes. Nice to meet you." I said, holding my hand out. Instead, she engulfed me in a hug, that was surprisingly very comfortable.
"I know you've been through the most with him. Don't worry, we'll help David." She whispered, rubbing my back, before breaking away.
I gave her a tight lipped smile before turning to Ed.
"Ed Warren, nice to meet you." He said, holding his hand out.
"Eden." I said, shaking his hand. After our greetings there was a brief silence, none of us knowing what to do.
"So where is David?" Ed asked, finally breaking the silence.
"He's um, upstairs in bed. He's not feeling too hot." My dad said, pointing upstairs. The Warren's both nodded their heads in understanding.
"Um would you like anything to drink or eat? We have some lemonade, water, some homemade cookies, anything really." My mom said, while my dad wrapped an arm around her comfortably.
"We're fine thank you. But before we get started we'd like to ask some questions. Like who was the first person to notice something happening with David and what exactly happened." Lorraine asked.
Everybody immediately turned to me, making the Warren's look at me questionably.
"Um yah that would be me." I said, tucking my hair behind my ears.
"So what happened exactly if you don't mind us asking." Ed asked.
I told them everything that happened, from us hearing the noises upstairs, to the bathroom doorknob rattling. All the way to David speaking differently and his appearance looking different.
I immediately made eye contact with Arne, when I mentioned that it all ended when he had shown up.
"I'm sorry you had to go through that." Lorraine said, giving me a sincere look. I just nodded scared to use my voice.
"With what you told us, David is definitely showing signs of possesssion. The only thing we don't understand is how the demon was so quick to leave when Arne showed up." Ed said, giving Lorraine a look.
"What do you mean?" Debbie asked, a few tears falling from her face. Arne wrapped an arm around her waist comfortably. Making me immediately look away not wanting to feel any worse.
"Well when someone's possessed, it's very rare where the demon just immediately disappears and the host looks normal. When Arne came, he should've seen some form of residue on David." Ed began.
"For example, how Eden mentioned how his veins were showing and that his eyes were a glossy, white. Arne should've been able to see something like that. Even if the demon was in the progression of disappearing from the host." Lorraine finished.
"So what does that mean? Is this something different we're working with then?" Arne asked, frowning.
"We don't know yet, it's just s theory. But if what we're thinking is correct, we need to start with the exorcism pretty quick if we want to see positive results." Ed said, his tone coming off pretty firm.
We all glanced at each other, not knowing what to think. I made eye contact with Arne, him giving me a comforting look, which always manages to make me somewhat at ease.
"Would one of you like to go get David for us please?" Lorraine asked, sitting her purse down.
"Yeah, I'll do it." Debbie said, making Arne drop his waist from around her.
"Are you sure? I can do it?" He said, frowning a little.
"Yah it's fine. I'll be right back." She said, giving him a kiss.
I knew my jealousy was radiating off of me right now, but I didn't even care to hide it. Debbie walked upstairs to get David, leaving us all in a silence
Arne ran a hand through his hair, making me look at him longingly. Wanting to run my hair through it. I immediately scolded myself for even thinking that way in a time like this.
I glanced at Lorraine, to see her already looking at me, giving me a smile while also giving me a look.
Did she see how I was looking at Arne? Could she even tell?
I quickly avoided eye contact, looking at the ground while wrapping my arms around myself.
We heard footsteps coming from the steps and we all turned our heads to the stairs.
We saw Debbie holding David. He looked even worse than the last time we saw him which wasn't even an hour ago. I could already feel tears prickling from my eyes, hating that David was the one who had to go through all this.
"Let's get started shall we?" Ed said, making us all nod, before heading the the living room.

**Author's Note**I hope you liked this chapter! I know there wasn't a lot of interactions between Arne and Eden but like I said before I kind of want it to be a slow-burn.
But next chapter you'll definitely see more interaction between Eden and Arne!
Also just to have some fun, for myself and you guys I guess, I'll put Edens outfit for the day at the top of each chapter. I don't know, I just think it'd be fun to do that lol. And also the movie takes place in the 80s so the outfits are obviously not going to look like the fashion now in a sense. So please don't hate on my outfit choices lol.
Let me know what you thought of this chapter!
See you next time :)
