Chapter 5: Connection

Kei's POV.

Kei: Ugh.........I exhausted myself again..........

I slowly opened my eyes and I saw someone's hand holding a damped towel. It's wiping my face and I flinched a little when I felt the cold water running through my face.

Kei: !!!

When I fully opened my eyes and came back into my senses, the figure of the one holding the towel is none other than........

Kei: Eh? Shirley? What are you doing here?

Shirley: Phew. You're finally awake.

She then puts the towel on a nearby basin as I asked.

Kei: Did the Jou and Gareth brought us back into the dorm?

Shirley responds.

Shirley: When we pinpointed the location of that light, we quickly headed there and we saw you, Nemo and Gildan, unconscious due to fatigue from using your magic power.

Shirley then frowns.

Shirley: Kei, you just recovered from our operation last time and then you just recklessly charged in without ever thinking!

Kei: S-sorry...........

Shirley: Because of that........you'll be confined here at your room! You're not allowed to step outside of this room. Got it!?

Kei: What are you!? My mom!?

Shirley: Just do what you're told!

I tried to sit up from my bed but Shirley covers me with my blanket and forces me to lie down.

Shirley: Just stay, right, there!

As if I can argue my way out of this one.

Then we heard someone knocking on the door.

???: Kei......you awake?

Kei: Yeah. Come in.

The door opens to reveal Faria.

Faria: Thank goodness you're also awake.

Kei: Yeah. But I'm confined here thanks to a certain someone.

I looked at Shirley as Faria just giggles.

Faria: Hehe. Looks like Shirley really has taken an interest in you, Kei.

Kei: Hm?

Shirley is just blushing as she stutters.

Shirley: U-uh.......i-it's my responsibility to take care of Kei. Since he was brought into this situation again, it's my responsibility to take care of him.

Kei: ...........

Faria: Alright then.
