Summary: Draco is trying to get over Harry and move on with his life. After they break up, he turns to completing his List to escape his problems. But when two children end up missing with Draco tasked to find them, can he really escape Harry Potter's presence?

The sun broke over the crest of the mountain. Winds howled for a time against the canvas flap covering a small crack on the cliff face. There was a narrow path up the mountain, snaking its way around her steep sides. It was seldom used but reliable, the locals would tell the occasional adventurer. A pale hand moved the canvas aside and a figure emerged, stretching into the sun. He had a quill in his right hand and a piece of parchment in his left. Draco crossed out item number 19 on his List and smiled. Though technically he hadn't reached the top of the mountain, he was set on reaching its summit in the next half hour. He tossed the quill and parchment back into the small cave and began his climb. It wasn't too much of a feat considering he had maybe 20 feet of rock to climb until he was at the very top. He grabbed a small ledge with his hand, found purchase on another with his foot and he hoisted himself up. His other hand found another hold and his ascent began. The muscles on arms and legs strained as Draco climbed purely with his strength. It was a condition on his list, climb a mountain without magic. He did use Muggle tools to get where he was but Draco wanted to overcome the last of the mountain with nothing but his body. Sweat dripped down his bare back as he scaled the last few feet of rock. With a final grunt of effort he stood at the very top of a mountain he could not pronounce the name of. Sunlight greeted him and the winds picked up, blowing hair around his face. Draco stretched out his hands and yelled.

Draco fished around the pocket of his robes frantically searching for something. When his search yielded nothing, he went to his wardrobe and started sorting through his things.

"Looking for this?" A voice from behind him asked.

Draco turned and saw Potter leaning against the open doorway with a piece of parchment on his hands and a smirk on his face. The blonde blushed in embarrassment at seeing his List in the hands of Potter. "Just because we're roommates doesn't give you the right to rifle through my personal belongings."

"Oh lighten up, Malfoy," Potter answered back. "I wasn't going through your things. You left this in the mess hall and I thought I'd give it back."

"Yeah," Draco stomped over to Potter. "Well, give it here." He tried to snatch the parchment away but Potter effortlessly dodged him and moved further inside the room. Draco cursed his quick reflexes and made another lunge for the List. Again, Potter easily sidestepped him and began to read.

"Buy Muggle Clothing, Eat candy floss, Tell Mother how much you love her..."

With a growl Draco leapt and wrestled Potter to the ground. Caught by surprise, Potter went down and thumped his head on the floor. Draco straddled him and harshly ripped the parchment from the other's hands.

"Easy there, Malfoy. That hurt."

"That'll teach you to steal someone's private possessions." He began to stand up when Potter grabbed his wrist.

"What is that, anyway?"

Draco struggled briefly but sagged in resignation. On top of a warm Potter, he said in a rush, "It's a list of things I have to do to make my life worthwhile, OK? Let me go now."

Potter grinned, hoisted himself up and gave Draco a quick peck on the lips. "That's number 12 sorted, then."

Three weeks after his climb, Draco set off to accomplish the last item on his List. Watch a vampire's Rising. So here he was, on his way to Castle Polotsk to meet with the Vseslavs. They were an old clan of vampires who considered themselves family, sharing one name and continuing the bloodline as they saw fit. Draco arranged to watch their newest heir Rise. He had to hand over a lot of Galleons and a fair bit of blood to get a front row seat to the sacred ritual.
