You kept clinging to Freddie's arm while he tried to eat his ice cream.
"Will you let me go?" he sighed.
You chuckled, "Never."
"Y/n, the adoption center is probably close by now. We will have to go there tomorrow," Freddie said as he set down the ice cream.
You scoffed, "Well, we could've gone today... But your mom just has to get in the way, am I right?!"
Freddie frowns, "Y/n, she is my mom!"
"Don't you think you should stand up to her?" you let go of his arm to sit on the couch then took his ice cream. "Look, I know your mom just wants the best for you. But you're a grown-up now! She can't keep doing that! I'm sorry but—"
"I guess you're right," Freddie sits next to you. "I'll try to talk to her, okay? For now, let's just go to sleep. We have a big day tomorrow."
You grinned, "I like seeing you like this."
"Oh, shut up you. Come on, let's move to our bedroom."

It's the day, it's finally the day!
You have been dreaming of this for your whole life, you just can't believe that it's finally going to happen.
Freddie opened the car door for you and smiled, "So are you going to stay there all day or what?"
You snapped out of your thoughts and gave him an apologetic look, "Oh, sorry. I didn't notice we're already here."
You got out of the car as quickly as humanly possible and look around, "Wow, we are early."
"Yup. Now, are you ready to go in there?" Freddie lent you his hand.
You took his hand, "I think I am."
You and Freddie walk in, hand in hand. Your eyes explored the whole area with excitement in it.
There are sure a lot of dogs in here. Different breeds, different ages, different everything... The common thing they have is probably their cuteness. And being dogs, of course.
"Hmm, which one are we taking home?"
"I don't know! They're all so cute..."
"Hmmm," Freddie placed his finger under his chin and looked around. "What about that one?"
Freddie pointed to a pretty golden retriever, who barked happily as Freddie did so.
You walked to him and the dog smile just got wider.
"Hey, buddy!" you cooed. "Oh, aren't you the cutest!"
The dog nodded and wagged his tail as if he understood what you said.
Seeing that, you just know that he is the one.
"Freddie, can we bring this one home?"
Freddie smiled and walked closer, "Hey little guy!"
The dog lowered his body, only his bottom is raised, tongue out.
Freddie grinned as he watches the dog, "Okay, we are bringing this boy home. Let's go!"

okay, so for context, today is this book's birthday! but i was too excited that i published everything before 1 AM, the time i published this whole thing
...so, here's the finalé for today's chapter update spamming :p
thought that this would be fitting since... we got a puppy!!!
i found it funny how i wrote about it then boom months later wow

i deeply apologize for people who just found this book and is confused at the timeline i rewrite this book
