I hadn't looked in a mirror for a while. I want sure how I looked. The only mirror I had looked in recently was at the Children's Hospital in New York. That was when my long brown hair was no longer long, my teeth no long white.
Now I had completed chemo. Radiation and chemo. I had been in remission for roughly 2 weeks and had just arrived in my hometown of Anaheim. The first thing on my checklist to do was... look in a MIRROR

"Goodbye Karen and Kendra! Have a great day! And as for you Ella...get away from me!
THAT was my "evil" stepmother and she was referring to my "evil" stepsisters Karen and Kendra.

After completing chemo and radiation, I returned to Anaheim, I was faced with: the death of my father and his replacement, a witch. And even worse, the witches monkeys. See my fairytale was not complete, I had not yet found my Prince Charming..

As I walked through the halls of my new school, I began to uncover all the cliche clicks. Jocks, Nerds, Cheerleaders, Wallflowers. I wonder off to a group of girls that seem nice.
"Hey, what's your name?"
"Ella," I reply.
"I'm Ashlee, that's Jorgina and Lorrina," she said, pointing to two brunettes. Ashlee was blonde, brown eyes.
"You should sit with us at lunch."
"Sure, I'd love too," I added eagerly.
"What class do you have?" Lorrina asked.
"English."
"Really? Me too," said Jorgina.
** the bell rings
"Come on Ella, let's go!"
