Ep 1/Chap 2

Chapter two:

Clarke and the group were currently walking through the forest with almost all of them admiring the scenery.

I honestly don't know if I should trust blondie.

She scares me.

What if she wants to kill me?

"Hey what are your guys' names?" I was walking on a log trying my best to maintain balance. The boy with goggles came over and put both of his hands on my waist and set me back on the ground. I didn't get a chance to complain when the Asian boy on my left answered me.

"I'm Monty and that's jasper. The other guy over there is Finn and the blonde is Clarke. I think you already know who Octavia is." Monty held his hand out for me after explaining who everyone was. I shook it and responded, "I'm five."

"Like the number?" Jasper asked me.

"Yup, exactly like the number." I hummed.

"That's so cool!" Both boys exclaimed at the same time.

Octavia then decided to jump into the conversation. "Why would your mom name you five?"

Why would your mom name you octopus?

"I don't know. It kind of just fit i guess." I lied. It wasn't my mom who named me this. She had died giving birth to me and Marcus Kane was the one who raised me until I was twelve since my real father left, unknown as to who it is to this day.
But Marcus also didn't name me Five.

"Well I think it sounds badass." Finn nudged my shoulder. I gave him a tiny smile and got a smirk in return. Finn stopped when he saw a pretty flower and put it into octavias hair. "Now that my friends, is game." Jasper popped his head in the middle of mine and montys and had whispered to us not so quietly.

"That, my friends, is poison sumac." Monty responded to him. Octavia heard this and was quick to brush it out of her hair.

"What?! It is?" She freaked out but Monty was quick to calm her down, "The flowers aren't poisonous. They're medicinal, calming actually." He popped some poison sumac into his mouth and chewed on it. I grabbed some myself and put two into my mouth. Monty grinned at me after seeing this.

"His family grows all the pharmaceuticals on the ark." I furrowed my brows. "That's a big word. I have no idea what it means but I'll act like I do." Before they could respond Clarke huffed loudly which made everyone quiet down and turn our heads towards her. "Hey, guys, could you try to keep up?"

"Come on, Clarke. How do you block all this out?" Finn questions her.

"Oh I don't know," she starts with obvious sarcasm in her voice, "maybe I was wondering why we haven't seen any animals yet. Maybe its because there are none. And maybe, we've already been exposed to enough radiation to kill us. Sure is pretty, though. Come on."

"Someone should slip her some poison sumac." Octavia mumbled. Me and jasper snort at this.

"I got to know what you two did to get busted." Finn points his finger back and forth between Monty and jasper.

"Sumac isn't the only herb in the garden, if you know what I mean."

"Someone forgot to replace what we took." Jasper pointedly looked at monty.

"Someone has apologized, like, a million times!" Monty exclaimed.

"I would always take some after you two would when I was twelve. I mean, you never noticed and Monty always replaced it." I shrugged nonchalantly. Jasper and Monty both halted and turned to me with wide eyes and mouths agape. "No wonder there was always more gone than what we took!" Jasper yelled. "We argued so much about it and thought the other took more secretly." Monty gasped out.
