Rachel
After seeing Lucas being launched away tears started to form in my eyes. The son of Demeter will be lost, he shall pay an impossible cost. I had no idea what the impossible cost was, but I hope Lucas would be okay. My vision turned red and the only thing that went through my head was revenge. I pulled out my dual wielding knives and charged forward. I destroyed monster after monster, wading through their forces, "Rachel! Get to Nico!" I heard someone yell into my ear and I started to make a clean path toward the unconscious Son of Hades. Bianca followed me into destruction while Percy had to drag Annabeth and fight with one hand. I mean, I don't have any powers which I find pretty disappointing. I could just hope that maybe I can be adopted? Yes, that can work. I can just leave my current family, make it so they didn't even know me and I could move in Camp Half-Blood with an adoptive parent. Which one could I choose? Certainly not Aphrodite, I can't stand being that kid. Certainly not Apollo or Demeter. The only one that could make sense though... nevermind I could just find one later. I soon saw Nico, he was starting to be dragged away and I could literally feel the rage coming off of Bianca and Percy. They were like waves of rage, they started to both charge forward towards Nico. Within seconds we got 2 unconscious demigods, 2 awake demigods, and me, a mortal. Maybe that can change and I can become a demigod by a ritual...yes...that can work. If I was given a wish from the Olympian Council I would wish to become a demigod under the adoptive parentage of a god or goddess of theirs and my agreement. I looked backwards and Bianca yelled, "Come on! We gotta get out of here!" my heart froze at that statement but I said, "What about Lucas?" Bianca looked at me and I realized that getting Lucas right now is hopeless. Tears started to spring out of my eyes of losing him. No. He's not dead, he's just...merely captured. "Come on! We don't have time!" She grabbed Percy's hand and they all grabbed onto everyone else. I grabbed Bianca's arm and soon the 5 of us shadow traveled out of there. As soon as we hit the ground I started coughing. I coughed up blood, I coughed up sobs, I coughed up all my pain. "I wish I was a demigod..." I muttered so quietly no one can hear. Bianca soon ran up to me and started to treat my wounds with mortal medicine. I groaned and wished I could instead just drink nectar or ambrosia. Sometimes a mortal life can be hard. Very very hard. "Shhh...calm down Rachel." I looked over her shoulder to see Percy treating NIco while Annabeth was bandaged up. "You know...right before that battle Lucas was talking about 'hopeless love' and he was referring to Annabeth." Bianca soon scowled at the name but nodded her head. "Hopeless love is what I like to call her." I looked at Bianca and smiled at her, but the smile didn't make my eyes. "Come on, we need to get to Lucas," I stood up and started concentrating on, 'Lucas, where is Lucas?' I thought and sure enough, a golden dim light appeared on the floor going down the corridor. "Come on guys, let's go find Lucas!" I said enthusiastically and I saw Bianca walk over to Nico and kick him in the ribs. I grimaced but sure enough, Nico woke up. "Wha-Where's Lucas?" he asked and I turned around to refuse to let the tears fall out. "He's been captured, let's go get him." Bianca told her brother and helped him up. Percy eagerly stood up so fast, that he slammed into Bianca. She almost fell but Percy grabbed her hand and pulled her back up, he smiled sheepishly. Annabeth also got up and tried to stand right beside Percy but Nico and Bianca took that spot. Annabeth frowned but tried again but I grabbed her arm and pulled her towards me. "Let's talk." I spoke in a deathly calm voice. Annabeth glared at me but seeing my expression she paled. "Y--yeah sure." She replies and I pull her along the way and follow the golden trail. "You know working out with Percy won't work." Annabeth glared at me but sighed, "At least it's a shot." I frowned at her, "Percy likes Bianca and Bianca returns those feelings, you just make him uncomfortable." Annabeth sighed at this, "You know...this is useless talk! You're just jealous." she snarled and I glared at her, "I'm not jealous of Bianca or you. I do not like Percy other than a brotherly way. So get that thought out of your head." Annabeth scowled at the floor and we kept moving and trudging forward. I sighed, "You can't win his heart Annabeth. He doesn't want to confess to you because he doesn't want to hurt you." Annabeth glared at me once again but I could see in her eyes that she was doubting herself. She finally sighed, "Ok." I smiled at her in relief, happiness, and sadness that Annabeth has to deal with this. I started to hear some clanging and I started running. The others started to chase me down, I kept running and running until finally I ran straight into a...prison. Yea, a prison. I frowned but I walked through, "Lucas must be in here..." I muttered and started looking at each of the cells. The smell suddenly hit me and I nearly gagged. Percy pinched the bridge of his nose, "This place smells." He said and no one argued. We walked around the cell area and suddenly I felt the need to pull out my bow. I trusted my instincts and pulled out my bow but realised my quiver was empty. I cursed, now I really wish I was a demigod, despite the monsters wanting to kill you, being a mortal has more downs than a demigod. I pulled out my dual knives then and prepared for battle. I soon heard a gasp and turned to my left and I gasped. "Lucas! You're safe!" I said excitedly but my face turned into a scowl, "If you ever do that stunt again, you are dead." Lucas just laughed at that and I cut open the door. He got up and walked out of the door and hugged me. I could've fainted right there and then because of him having this most physical contact with me. I awkwardly hugged back. This is nice. Wait, where did that come from. Whatever. Lucas pulled back after a second, "Where's the others?" he asks, frowning. I looked at his wrist for his bracelet but saw none. "Doesn't your bracelet always come back to your wrist if you ever lose it?" I ask, confused lacing in with my voice. He grimaced, "They took it away from me and hid it in a weapons shack." I nodded and soon I found Nico and Annabeth arguing over something. "Nico! Annabeth!" Lucas called out and they turned to him. Nico ran forward and Lucas paled before Nico punched him in the gut, "You had us worried, Bark Head!" I internally laughed at his confused face, "Listen here Corpse Breath." Soon Percy and Bianca showed up and I saw Lucas drastically pale at the sight of them. "Guys!" he said, drawing out the 'y' for a while. They stared at him before running forward and hugging the breath out of him. "Yeah yeah...I miss you too." Percy stood back and pulled out a bracelet to Lucas. Lucas nodded and grabbed the bracelet and put it on himself again. He pressed the button on top of it and it turned into a 3 foot long short sword that was a silver blade as well as a type of wood that shines in the moonlight. "Oh I forgot to tell you about my sword. Demeter gave it to me and the blade itself was made out of petrichor silver and the hilt is made up of a wood called calykriton, or in other woods, the strongest kind of wood you can get and it is only available by Demeter herself." he stated and soon we heard a screech. Lucas cursed, 'We've been here long enough. I suggest we run or unless he wants to fight Kampe" he shouts and I look at the others. "What do we do?" I ask him and he shrugs, "Run." no questions asked as we ran away as fast as we could go. I soon focused towards Daedalus' workshop and soon a glow appeared on the ground. We ran past it and kept following it until we entered a forge. I frowned, "This is not what we are looking for." I say obviously. The man who was working turned towards us and if I could see, I could recognize that beard from anywhere. I dropped to a knee instantly and the others followed as quickly, "Lord Hephaestus." Lucas says and the god of forges looked at Lucas, "Yes indeed. I am Hephaestus." He responds, not really caring. "Can you find us a way to find Deadalus?" Percy asks and Hephaestus' eyes widened. "That would cost you a lot." I paled and I saw Lucas pale at the same time while everyone else looked nervous. "What...would that price be?" Lucas asked, the last part barely being a whisper. "Don't worry, all I just need you to do is to go to a workshop of mine. See who infiltrated it because I can't go near it without them sensing my aura and I can't send any automations there. They never come back." Lucas nodded, slowly. "You and Rachel will go on this mission while the rest of the others will be here." They looked at Lucas and I and they soon gulped and paled at the thought. Lucas was pale and he was soon shivering but soon Hephaestus sent us on our way, following a mechanical spider. I still saw Lucas shivering at the thought and I slipped my hand into his, "Shhhh...It'll be alright Lucas...It'll be alright." He seemed to be calmed down but he smiled and I let go of his hand. We kept running until we finally found ourselves looking at a huge metal door. I looked at Lucas and he looked back at me, "Here goes nothing," He said and we opened the door. Instantly heat went towards me and I felt a drop of sweat fall off of me. I saw Lucas' hand move towards the bracelet on his watch but he doesn't want to press it. We sneaked past a shopping cart and soon behind a boulder. "Aye! It'll be sharper than the first one!" A voice spoke up, "Master would be pleased at this improvement we have made. Now quick! A few more dips and it will be completed!" I heard another voice call out and I turned to Lucas. He mouthed, 'telkhines' and I nodded. He looked over his shoulder and back at me, "Get out of here! I'll catch up, I need to destroy the scythe." I stared at him, "You aren't getting out of here being a hero, we are going together!" I shout at him. He looked at me and said, "Go. Now." His eyes didn't open for any questions so I whispered back, "I swear if you somehow die," He shook his head, "Go." I nodded and soon I stood up and started running, I ran through the doors and left it open so that Lucas could get out of there soon. I ran through the corridors and threw the spider onto the ground. It scuttled away and I chased it back to Hephaestus' forge. Soon I heard an explosion behind me making me fly off my feet and slam into the ground. I groaned and looked to where the explosion took place from and saw rocks blocking the entrance, "Lucas..." I muttered, tears going down my face and I stood up. "I swear...if you die here I would make your life miserable." she promised and soon kept chasing the spider, worrying that if she looked at those rocks for any longer, she would burst into tears. She hadn;t even told him how she felt about him and he died. No. I refuse to believe he was dead. I mean, paying an impossible cost? Death seems possible, all you had to do was pay and boom! Someone dies. I soon found myself in Hephaestus' forge again and I looked at the god of forges. "Lucas...he was in that explosion! The telchines are rebuilding Kronos' scythe! Lucas destroyed the forge!" I say in my machine gun voice that I hadn't used since I was scolding Lucas in the orientation. Hephaestus nodded grimly, "I can't tell you if he died or not but I can certainly bring you back to Camp Half-Blood where the others are already waiting." I nodded and felt myself flash away. I appeared on the top of Camp half Hill and ran towards my cave. I opened it and looked around to see pictures that I had made when I moved in here. I sighed and laid down on my bed, I started openly sobbing. I sobbed for hours on end until I finally calmed down and laid down on my bed. When I woke up I stood up and started to head towards breakfast. I sat down at the head table and saw everyone staring at me. I looked up to Chiron and saw the distress in his eyes. I soon saw Bianca and Nico standing there in shock. Percy was staring at his food while Annabeth didn't really care. That made my blood boil but I couldn't stay awake. I picked glumly on my food while everyone stared at me. The Demeter cabin was softly sobbing, the others must've told them about the mission. Soon Percy, Bianca and Nico appeared on my side and sat beside me. None said a word and I was glad they didn't. I didn't want anyone saying, 'It'll be okay.' or stuff like that. It is all fake and it just doesn't help one bit. I sighed constantly and stared at the food. I didn't have an appetite. I soon just stood up and dumped all my food into the fire and muttered a prayer that Lucas was still alive. As the days grew on and on I kept losing hope that he was alive. Soon I was at lunch and a boy from the Ares cabin stood up, "Meet me at your cave at 8, no before no later." I stared at him in confusion before just nodding because I had nothing else to do. Percy raised an eyebrow at us but the boy just nodded before heading back to his cabin. Percy just shrugged and continued staring at his food. Later at 8 I walked into the cave to find him there. "What do you want?" I said and he stood up. "My name is Peter. Peter Finnester." I stared at him before asking once again, "What do you want?" He smirked at me and I shivered, no. My eyes widened as he moved on me. He grabbed me by the shirt and pulled me over to the wall, pinning me there. My eyes widened even more and he stood there smirking. "Why...I want you to be mine." I shivered as he moved his hand across my body and suddenly I was pushed to the wall again. My arms went diagonal to my body and I shivered as he pressed his body up to mine. I looked to the side and attempted to scream but he placed a gag into my mouth. "Now now... We can't have that can we?" He said and I stared at him with terror evident in my eyes. He pressed against me even further up to the wall until suddenly something pushed him to the side. I gagged and pulled the gag out of my mouth and started running. Before I could finish running I saw Percy beating Peter. I walked over to him and growled at him. Percy kept beating Peter until he grabbed him by the shirt and lifted him up. "You would never hurt any of my friends again, you hear me out. This is your final warning, you are lucky Lucas isn't here right now. He would've killed you for hurting his friend." I growled at him and stepped forward and slapped him on the face before he started running away. "I need security on these doors, my touch and others I have allowed would open this door and inside would be the cave." Percy nodded and started concentrating. "I'll do that for you, he almost raped you." I shivered at the thought of his body pressed against mine.
