It's a week before finals, but there's been some weird tension around the house. Outside of classes, Michael and I do not really talk as much anymore. He's just quiet now, and he looks like he wants to say something, but he doesn't. We avoid eye contact at dinner, and we stopped training together. He even stopped watching the sunset with me.
Lori doesn't even talk as much. She's been doing a lot of planning, but when I try to ask her about it, she gets all defensive. Pac says that we're going on a trip later this week, but he even doesn't know much about it. Of course, he does his own thing most of the time, but he seems to be distant as well. After Suge left last week, Pac stopped showing me his raps, and he's been more quiet than usual.
I'm not sure what's going on. At this point, I'm just ready to go home.
Today, I just finished my last lesson on the minority experience abroad. We talked about how "minority" is a subjective term, and since we're traveling, I explained how one may be a minority in one country, but not the other, so "minority" isn't always appropriate.
Michael wanted to make sure that I have time to study for my finals all next week, so we're apparently traveling after he finishes these classes, then I take my finals, and we finally go back to the states. I must admit, I'll miss everyone, but I wish we would leave Croatia on better terms. I miss seeing other POC besides them, so hopefully, wherever we go, it'll be a little...darker.

"Wake uppppppppp!" Lori sings, more like screams throughout the entire house.
My brown orbs scan the dark room in search of my phone— 4AM?
"Where are we going?" I yell in response. I grab my bags for our weeklong trip.
Michael, Pac and I all meet in the kitchen to see Lori standing, fully dressed and made up with her special red folder. She hands us all itineraries full of things to do and a schedule. The top of the itinerary reads the one place I'm actually excited to go to: Dubai.
"We're gonna go see Cashley?!" I excitedly ask.
"Yes! I knew you would love it! Also, while you and Pac spend are in Dubai, Michael and I are going to Abu Dhabi!" Lori smiles.
That's interesting. I didn't know they we're taking a lil baecation. I'd be lying if I said I weren't a little hurt. I mean, I'm excited to see Cashley, but I didn't know we would split up.
"What? Absolutely not." Surprisingly, Michael disagrees, shaking his head, "We're staying together."
"But, I just planned this whole thing for us. That's what we agreed." Lori seems sad.
Then something changes after a few seconds, "Fine. I'll just cancel everything I planned and we can stay here." She storms out of the kitchen. That's the angriest I've ever seen her— I didn't think she had it in her.
I wait a few minutes, "But, I kinda wanted to see Cashley" I say in a hushed whisper.
"We'll still go," this is the first time Michael looked at me in the eyes in weeks, "All of us, in Dubai, together."
Lowkey, Abu Dhabi sounds fun too...
Less than an hour later, we're on the jet almost to Dubai, and again, everyone is kind of doing their own thing. Lori calmed down, but she is still very quiet. I caught her staring at me a few times for some reason. In fact, I caught both her and Michael staring at me a couple of times— I'm starting to think that I did something, but I've just stayed in my lane.
She's has been typing quickly, I'm guessing switching the schedule. Michael has been looking out of the window, and Pac has been texting someone angrily. I've been texting Cashley and doing homework.
We finally arrive in Dubai, and I can't wait to see Cashley and get updated on everything with her wedding! Once we land, I run off of the plane, ready to meet see her at her dorm.
