Five Shots Couldn't Drop Me

It's been days, and I'm currently taking finals in a hospital room in Dubai. It's been so scary to even leave and walk around the town. Lori and Michael went to the cafeteria, but I can't even eat. Cashley even came to visit before she leaves.

Thankfully, he's alright. After surgery, the first thing he said was "Five shots couldn't drop me," and he's been writing ever since.

I just couldn't understand why anyone would do the to him, and further, it torments me to even think that could've been me. He took five shots, aimed at him, but that could've been me. Someone, his old friend, who I used to see all the time in Croatia, tried to kill him. Or worse, us. I can't stop thinking about that.

We're all just kind of shocked, but Michael and Pac don't seem as shocked. He didn't tell me much, but Michael said that it was some street rivalries back home, and he was sat up. Now the late night secret talks, the paranoia, the jumpiness, it all makes sense. I have so many questions, but I refuse to ask them. I bet Pac's in a lot of pain, and I don't want to bring up anything.

"He had it out for me. You were just in the way," Pac seems to answer one of my questions, "Just stay safe. He was Lori's friend before mine."

I nod, unable to form cohesive sentences.

"I had a feeling. I just didn't think it'll happen the way it did." He pauses, then goes back to writing.

Night comes quickly, and after day 2 of finals, I slowly fall asleep with my notes in my lap. I just have two more papers due, and I'm done.

I feel like someone is watching me, so I slowly open my orbs and scan the room. Pac is asleep one the bed, Michael is laid out on the couch, and Lori's green orbs are watching mine from across the small room.

Weird. She slowly stands and comes closer to me.

"I know he's in love with you."

I give her a confusing look. We agreed that no one is supposed to know. She looks at Pac after she walks closer to me.

"It should've been you."

I'm speechless and my orbs open as wide as they could. She bends down and meets me eye level.

"If I can't have him, nobody can!" She yells and pulls something out of her pocket.

This can't be happening.

"You should be there. Lying there half dead. You took him from he." Tears stream down her brown orbs as she pulls out a 22 from her back pocket.

I am completely still, shaking and speechless. From the corner of my eye, I see Michael emerge from the couch and Pac slowly open his eyes.

She cocks the gun, "Any last words?"

(A/N: this is so funny for me to write ahahahaha)

"I-I-"

In an instant, Michael smacks the gun from her hands from behind. In the process, she falls to the ground and Pac smashes the nurses' button. Immediately, nurses rush in and Lori rolls on the ground, trying to get up.

"She tried to kill me!"

That was the first sentence that came from my mouth all day.
