I Never Knew He Was This Bad

Chapter 3

Scarlett couldn't stop thinking about Ivan. She wanted to. She wanted to stop so bad. She couldn't believe she had been personally invited by Ivan to one of his parties. She thought the studying would end with her storming off, but it ended with her frantically rushing off so he couldn't see the pure excitement in her eyes. She didn't want to like him. She didn't. And she hated that she did. And soon, she couldn't stand staying in her brain. Scarlett had to tell someone about what had happened. And so she did.

She pulled out her diary.

Dear diary,

Hey! We need to talk. Ivan and I are now science partners.

And while at his house he invited me to a party which is so cool but...

I'm so scared.

I've never gone to a party, I'm not sure how to act, what to wear, what to do, who to talk to, who to stay away from, what to eat, what to drink, how to get home, when to go home, who to hang out with...

I know I'm probably overthinking this and the whole thing but I am.

I'll be fine... right..? I should be... but why am I so scared? Why?

I guess it's okay... right..? Why did he invite me anyway? I'm so excited.

I'm so excited! But I am scared... I'll be okay. I know I will.

Scarlett finished signing off her diary before throwing it in her drawer. She stood from the bed and walked to her closet, looking over all her clothes before she found a cute red silk dress and then paired it with some platform shoes and a cute black mini purse with a pair of fishnets. She let out a satisfied sigh, it was far from her normal style so she hoped it'd be alright for the party. But she'd see the girls that had gone to those parties, and they had dressed far more revealing than she had. She supposed she would be the most clothed girl there. She folded her clothes onto her desk before she got ready for bed.

She laid restless in her bed for hours thinking about tomorrow and what had happened today. Finally however, she was able to drift off to sleep.
